Right Through You

This song seems to be about the struggle Alanis had getting (back) into the music business.. or maybe just a generalized take on record company executives and producers etc. She seems to be showing how she got treated because she's a woman and how she got no respect because of it "took me out to wine dine sixty-nine me and didn't hear a damn word I said". She's telling a bunch of horror stories she encountered trying to get into the business, she got no respect or interest musically from any of these business execs and then when she finially breaks out into the scene these guys want their share of the wealth and noteriety "you scan the credits for your name and wonder why it's not there" well maybe it's cuz you treated her like a peice of ass! As an aspiring woman musician I'm glad someone told it like it is and I now know what to watch out for....what have I learned?...GO FOR MAVERICK RECORDS ITS RUN BY A WOMAN!
