Story: It was on the 16th of December 1999 at Parramatta Leagues - it wasn't the first time I met Tim but my sister hadn't met him before. We bought Thank You t-shirts and we lined up for Tim to sign them after the gig - my sister was wearing her shirt and Tim asked her "can I sign your titties".... my sister was very embarrassed and got her shirt signed on the back. She is now a fan of the man.

Story: I met Tim at the Central Club Hotel in December 1999. Tim had just played "You'll Find A Way" my favourite song, and I had yelled out "Thankyou!!!" to him when he had finished because it was the first time I'd ever seen him do it live. I didn't think he heard me but when I was lining up afterwards to buy a shirt he was just standing there next to him. So I took my chance and thanked him personally. It was actually quite embarrassing because I was so flustered I couldn't remember the name of the song! I thought Tim would just walk off on me but he said he heard me yelling out my thanks. I was walking on air for weeks afterwards!

Story: Having stumbled across this page, I just had to contribute! After a fantastic gig at the Bathurst Rugby Leagues Club, given that the crowd was so small, Tim informed us all that he'd come down and 'give us all something which we can give to our mother-in-law for Christmas'. (It was 10/12/99). So, to cut a long story short, I managed to chat to Tim four times I doubt that Tim does not get asked to sign the other band members' names (in addition to his) on stolen posters too often! Which is what I did. At first, given the slightly incredulous look on his face, Tim was gonna tell me to f*** off, but eventually he laughed and did as I asked. Anyway, later still, everybody else had left, so I ducked back in and gave Tim a small note thanking him (a big suck up, but, you know.....).To my surprise, he takes the note, cracks up, and we have a good chat! I was actually a bit wary of going up to chat to Tim as often as I did, because I'd read/heard that he could be a bit of a prick, and I did not want to look like a tragic fan. But, taking the risk paid off. Tim was really, well, likeable. Whatsmore, I got a few of those cheeky, lop-sided grins.

Story: I've never really met the Whitlams before, but one day in May '98 I was in Melbourne at the airport on the way to Brisbane when I heard an over the P.A. that a flight to Sydney was waiting on a few passengers who were yet to board, and could they make their way to the plane. The next minute, I spot them all run out of the Club Lounge one by one to the plane past a group of fans waiting in the gate lounge.

Story: The best day of my life!!!! seriously....a day i will always remember...you guys would know what i mean by unforgetable....to meet someone you have been dying to meet for so long is a dream come true...honest!!! it was at the instore visit at allans music, sydney. My friend dogged me and i was hesitant to go by myself but weighed up my choices....go and meet tim or not go and miss out on meeting tim....hmmm...let me see that was a hard choice. Of course i am going to go - am i stupid. anyway, thursday morning came, i get up and set out to meet him. grab my camera and cd covers and jet off. i get there and i am already shaking....is it real??? i have only enough money to pay my phone bill and the lyrics book which i can get signed is $45....should i get it, YES!!! i buy it and my phone rings, it is my best friend, is he there yet, as i say no i turn around, and there he is....it was like he had a gold light illuminating him....wow!!! :) i start to hyperventilate or close t! o it.....ssshhh dont tell anyone but my emotions got to me that much that i started to get teary, you know how it is when you cant hold back....i line up to get things signed...it is 12.15pm. it is my turn soon, i am taking photos, standing there and disecting every one of his moves to try to see into him and to see what type of person he is...yep just how i thought he was...very much into people. there i am standing in front of TIM FREEDMAN!!! "hi tim, how are you" he is great and as for me....well.... he signs my covers and book, he also tells me that he remembers my email after i show it to him and asks me about the bottle of wine i promised him. he tells me he was the one who replied to the hotmail....but that was before he was swamped with them...so he probably wont reply to many nowadays. he knows my name because he had to sign it. he talks to me for five minutes and tells me to come back at one pm when he finishes....AAAAHHHHH!!!!! forty-five minutes later and af! ter meeting around two-hundred people, i go back. these 15 yo teenyboppers go up and try to talk to him the owners want to take him out to the back to have lunch with the staff it is already 1.05pm and they are running late. they are getting impatient and just as i thought he had forgotten he says hang on guys just give me a minute. he looks to where i was standing at first but i had moved i am now sitting at the piano. he sights me and sits down beside me. "oh hi again joanne" oh my god TIM FREEDMAN remembered MY NAME!!!!! i am extatic. although he is in a rush we sit there and talk for twenty minutes, i cant believe it, someone who is only a normal human but who means heaps to me is sitting there talking to me, i cant keep myself controlled inside. i get one more photo before he has to go. he tells me he better go but hopes to see me at the gigs in october. i told him he definately would!!! i hope i can meet him backstage sometime.... i went and wasted film with some shots of the city and the harbour and run around to get the photos developed at a one hour place i love them, i am so excited, i remember it like nothing else and everytime i think about it i get butterflies in my tummy ... tim freedman hey ... what will my kids think of that????

Story: well..i didn't meet the whilams, but i did meet the whitlams *grin* i actually was really lucky to scam my way back stage at a fairly big festival last year.It was only by chance that i came across a very sweaty Tim after he finished his set..He staggered over to me flashing that trade mark grin..We chatted for for a while,he was a drunk bastard.People seem to be clouded by his so-called charm. He is not charming.Infact he is a down-right bastard! and it is this that makes him charming...and i know he doesn't mind me thinking this.Infact he said he likes it!

Story: I met Tim when he was playing at the Coffs Harbour RSL when I was holidaying down there last year. My girlfriends and I were lucky enough to meet him at the beach as well when we were body surfing. Tim pretty much landed upon my friend, Sal, when he got dunked by a really big wave. I hadn't heard them live before but was truly impressed by them. Danielle.

Story: I was at Storm Aid (A benefit concert for my town, Wollongong, after the floods in August), and my fave band "The Whitlams" were playing. The good thing was that my position in the mosh pit was right at the front, in the centre, about 3-4metres away from Ben. I had to wait an hour for them to come on and perform, but it was worth it. They played 10-11 songs, as well as listening to Tim's "Tim-isms". Some assholes up the back thought they could climb up on people's shoulders and crawl across until they got to the front, which as a result (i'm quite a little person) caused me and my friends to be squashed up against the barricades. Tim, being the sweet guy he is, noticed this and told those people to get down & stop making idiots of themselves, and we weren't crushed anymore :) After the show, I had to wait around an hour (in pitch-black, freezing cold) to get my albums signed, but it was worth it. They're the nicest band ever. :)

Story: i have a bad habit of trying to do the exact opposite of all the teenyboppers around me at gigs. when they shout 'timmie', i shout bring back andy. when they shout no aphrodesiac, i shout happy days and when i really want to shit stir i shout sydney 2000 olympic theme (i have asked tim to play it when we were chatting one night and he refused so i yell it just to be a bitch). at the hi-fi (2nd gig) i got sick of hearing 'timmmmm' 'timmmm' all the time and so when i heard the start of the 'no aphrodesiac chant' from the audience i started "{no! don't play that crap - plasy one of stevie's songs". tim spotted me gave me a mock furious look (all the teenyboppers didn't know we were joking and they wanted to tar and feather me); then told me to get f***ed and threw a wine bottle at me. i laughed; he smiled that evil little grin and then i shouted it could have at least had some left in it you bastard! then a beer can came my way - full! it was like he had planned it cos he drinks a different beer or wine but he knows what i drink and that's what he threw!
