As the Bean Bandits have been a foundation for 50 plus years of rodding and racing history. They have been away from the circuit for a long time. Recently, Lefty was given the okay by the club to race his lakester in Bean Bandit yellow.
Bean Bandits are featured in a several page layout in the March 2002 issue of Rod & Custom magazine.
Lefty is currently working at Autopower race equipment learning a lot from the speed recorder holders, the White's. In his off hours, Lefty has been rebuilding, or recreating his 29' roadster into a streamlined lakes racer.
Lefty is featured in the October 2001 issue of Rod & Custom magazine. Lefty ,or his cars have been in numerous publications, Rodders Journal, Rolls & Pleats, Burnout, Hop Up, Cruisin' and more. But this is the first time Lefty speaks out and gives much credit to some of his mentors.
Lefty is working at Don's Speed Center, located at 3303 Hancock St., in San Diego, California. He is learning the fine art of building motors and speed equipment. And his current focus is on lakes racing. Other projects are in the works for the fall. Stay tuned!
