At this time in the band's history, with it's founding father having left, or been ousted, from the band, I feel it is right and proper to say a few words of thanks. So, thank you, to Dennis De Young for helping to form this wonderful band which we all love so much. Together with John, John (may they both rest in peace), JY & Chuck, you created a good band, and wrote some wonderful music, both prior to and since Tommy's arrival. I personally wish you well in all your future projects, and hope that, while you may not be able to accept it right now, I believe that this development is to the benefit of both the band and you, and your respective musical careers.

However, it is principally Tommy's music and input into the band that drew me to them from the first time I heard Cornerstone, through to my 18th birthday, when the one present I was hoping for more than anything, and I received, that being the Crystal Ball album, through to Tommy's songs on Kilroy, his solo work, his work with Damn Yankees, and more recently, his input on Brave New World. At last, along with JY's input also, Styx were truly rocking again. Thankfully, with no offence to Dennis, the incessant ballads have come to an end, and the band were rocking again. Even Dennis' work was, in my view, at least, his strongest since Pieces Of Eight or Paradise Theatre maybe.

Tommy was and is what makes Styx the greatest band on earth, I believe. Dennis' good band was transformed into a great band when Tommy joined. Also, more recently, it is because of Styx, and Tommy in particular, that led me to meet my fiancee, my darling Susie, and for that, I cannot thank you enough.

So to Dennis, thank you so very much for all  your music and the legacy you have left us. And to JY, Chuck, Glen, Todd, and Gowan, thank you for carrying that legacy forward. But most especially, thank you to Tommy, for all that you have given to this band and continue to give, and the music you have given to us, the fans.
