Japanese 'Sabrina' CD

Soon after the enormous success with 'Boys (Summertime Love)', Sabrina's management-team had Sabrina quickly record some tracks in order to release an album. As time was short and not enough original material was at hand (just the two singles, 'Sexy Girl' and 'Boys (Summertime Love)', the b-side of 'Boys'- 'Get Ready (Holiday Rock)', 'Hot Girl' and 'Kiss Me'), the album was filled up with several cover versions ('Kiss' by Prince, 'Lady Marmelade' by Patti LaBelle, 'My Sharona' and 'Da Ya Think I'm Sexy' by Rod Stewart). The album was released in many countries, Italy, France, Germany, Japan, and Korea among them.

Most of these releases feature just the 9 tracks listed above. One exception is the German release, which replaced the original version of 'Hot Girl' with this song's single-version (called 'New Version'), and contained the 5:40 Extended and 5:37 Dub versions of Boys (Summertime Love)'. The picture-sleeves in most countries used the same picture as for the single release of 'Boys (Summertime Love)' (France, Korea and Japan). The German and Italian releases stand out with their unique picture-sleeve designs.

Italian 'Sabrina' reissue CD album

Unlike 'Super Sabrina', which was reissued numerous times, Sabrina's first album didn't see many reissues so far. In Italy, the RTI record-label (responsible for the release of Sabrina's 1998 album 'A Flower's Broken') licensed some of it's tracks and issued a remix-album in 1996. The tracks (including the singles 'Boys (Summertime Love)', 'Hot Girl' and 'Sexy Girl) are given an up-to-date dance-production on this disc, which features vocal tracks, dub versions and a megamix. In 1997, RTI showed less creativity and managed a straight reissue of Sabrina's complete first album. Even the picture-sleeve is very similar to the original.
