1987 saw the release of Sabrina's second single, 'Boys (Summertime Love)', the song Sabrina is still most remembered for today. A typical Italo-dance pop number with a catchy tune, it became a huge summer-hit very soon in Italy and many other countries around the world (except the UK, where it only reached No. 2 in the charts in 1988). Once again, the team around Claudio Checchetto was responsible for the song's writing and production. They prepared a single version, a 12" mix and a dub mix. Later, remixes were done by Wally Brill (released in Germany) and the PWL-team (released in the UK and the US in 1988).

Although record-companies in most countries used more or less the same design for their picture-sleeves, there are some variations. The Portuguese 7"-single used the graphic-design normally reserved for the 12"-releases, while most known South American 7"-releases don't come in a picture-sleeve at all.

Most international 12"-releases of 'Boys (Summertime Love' aren't very exciting, as usually the same picture as on the 7"-releases is used (with some variations in the graphic-design, however). But some 12"s-stand out: In Italy, a very nice picture-disc was released (which features the 7"-version of the song), while Ecuador went for a completely unique design (using a picture also found on the German 'Sabrina'-LP).

The CD single was still a very new format in 1987/88. Probably in an attempt to make this format more attractive to buyers, record companies in Japan and France didn't release CD singles just of 'Boys (Summertime Love)', but waited until Sabrina's next single had been released, too, to combine the two titles on one CD single.
