SABRINA SALERNO SINGLE RELEASES:
SEXY GIRL

Italian 'Sexy Girl' 7" single

Until 1986, Sabrina - then a former Miss Liguria and young TV-presenter in Italy - had only sung occasionally on TV shows. But that changed soon, as Italian music-producer Claudio Checchetto decided that Sabrina should test her talents in the pop music business, too. The result was Sabrina's debut single, tellingly titled 'Sexy Girl', which was released in Italy in the beginning of 1987. The single was released in two different picture-sleeves, one of Sabrina in jeans and black top and one with Sabrina in a peach-coloured swim-suit. 'Sexy Girl' was licensed to record companies in several other countries, which all used different designs for the picture-sleeves of their releases.

After the huge success of Sabrina's follow-up single to 'Sexy Girl', 'Boys (Summertime Love)', 'Sexy Girl' received a new boost in several countries. Even some remixes were prepared to make these new releases more attractive. One record company to release these new mixes was ZYX from Germany (using the picture-sleeve design of the original french release of the song on the Hot Tracks-label), and, more exotically, Mercury in the Philippines. The Australian 7" only features the 'Boys' picture of Sabrina, while the version used is the old Italian 7"-mix.
