Sumiko California

Sumiko is a prolific songwriter who, prior to cofounding Stagefright, performed with the alternative rock band Poetic Justice in Hawaii from 1986 to 1988. She writes short stories and poetry, and self-published two poetry anthologies in the late 1980s (The Coffee Files, 1985; Untitled, 1987). In 1987, The San Francisco Chronicle interviewed her and counted her among the promising upcoming poets in what they termed the new Beatnik resurgence.
