You step into a quiet, dark crypt, lovingly kept by the Iscariot family. You walk along, careful of the rats scurrying around beneath your feet. Of a sudden, your eyes are drawn to a crystal coffin, built for two..the two who lie inside it. As you draw near, your eyes begin to tear at the simple, yet eloquent words written on the lid of the coffin.
These two within, cast in gentle slumber..a love to last forever..two hearts bound in love, never to be parted.
Vampofthenite and White Raven Angel
Within the confines of the coffin, you see two kindred..she, dressed in the white gown, so symbolic of the angelic nature of her name, with wings of darkest night wrapped gently around her..her head resting on his shoulder, her arm around his waist, her fingers locked in his. And he...he with darkest hair and fairest face, his arms wrapped around her, protecting her even in death. Your eyes are drawn to the hematite bands on their left hands, above the rings binding them forever to each other, and it makes you smile, knowing, that even though their bodies rest, their spirits still commune, far inside the reaches of the mystery of Torpor.
As you look around the crypt, you see pictures on the walls. Pictures of Vampofthenite and White Raven Angel, smiling, happy...and so much in love. You see the pictures of their wedding day, the day they joined their hearts, to never be parted. You see pictures of Raven, with her beloved brother Riodrian, and Vampo, with his beloved Ventrue.
You find a dusty book, opening it to find the beauty of Raven's poetry, written from a heart filled with love and beauty. As you leaf through the pages, you see the words written to her family and friends...the love she felt for her brother, Riodrian....her close bond with her sister of the heart, Keltic Witch....her genuine love for her family, pouring forth from the dusty pages. As you stop to wipe a tear from your eye, you wonder at the person this woman was..the passion inside her...the love so freely shared and you say softly to yourself..."She never knew a stranger. Never saw a lonely soul and let them feel alone. What a remarkable woman. She will be missed."
As you sit there, poring over the pages, you become aware of some soft music playing in the background..somehow hauntingly familiar, but its name escaping the reaches of your mind. You close your eyes, and let the music wash over you...and you remember.......and it makes you smile....
As you ready yourself to leave, you walk to the coffin and gaze down one last time, smiling softly at the two, so obviously still in love, resting together, for all time and eternity, never to be parted. You touch the coffin almost reverently, then turn to the stairs, turning off the lights, noticing that the glow of love the two share...reflects a light all its own.
You are hearing...Con Te Partiro (Time To Say Goodbye)...by Andrea Bocelli.
