Asoka
The first time I saw this movie, I was a bit shocked, first because I had only seen two bollywood movies before this and didn't know the "rules" (i kept cringing whenever I would see Kareena Kapoor in the waterfall because i just didn't know if she was going to derobe or not), and second, because it was very violent. The next time I saw it, I had seen many, many of them and knew what I was looking for. The idea was to follow the love story, and everything else that happened stems from it. It is a heartbreaking story .. truly heartbreaking.
Devdas
Gorgeous movie with such a sad ending. The first time I saw it was without subtitles ... but when you know the basic plot, it's easy to follow. The music is beautiful!

I will always associate this movie with Valentine's day because when I saw it the first time, my boyfriend (at the time - we're married now) called me long distance and we both watched it in sync together. We would make little comments throughout - he had seen it dozens of times, so he would tell me things to look for. India knows how to write a perfect love story!

Shah Rukh is by far one of my very favorite actors - not just in this genre, in the whole world! I'll watch anything he's in, but bless his heart, this was a bad movie. We tried to like it, but didn't even finish the whole thing.
Masti
A bit different than most of the bollywood movies I'd seen. I recognized no one in the cast. The plot was goofy, but highly entertaining ... though it got pretty far fetched at the end with the chase scene...
Veer-Zaara
If ever I could relate to a film, it's this one! The lovers are #1) not from the same country and #2) separeted unnecessarily. So many times while I was
