Review: |
Reportedly an attempt by EMI/Capitol to outsell Michael Jackson's "Thriller" album (at around 40 million sales) as the highest selling album of all time. The CD contains The Beatles singles releases to hit the number one position in both the UK and US. The music still stands the test of time, and again illustrates the remarkable musical growth The Beatles exhibited over their recording career. However, there will be few people who don't already have these Beatles songs, or for that matter, a Beatles greatest hits compilation already in their collection. The title and packaging lack imagination, and despite the inevitable marketing blitz for the Christmas market there is very little here for the true Beatles fan to get excited about. Unfortunately, it's a case of "seen it all before". Save your money and put it toward The Beatles Anthology book. |
