In keeping with the spirit of Jeff Magnum's bare bones guitar playing, this page will be simple, straightforward, and keep the details to a minimum. Right here is as simple as it gets, folks: three or four chord acoustic strums you could play with yer feet had you no arms. So enjoy them for their fucked-upness and email me NMH tabs should you need them.
Oh, and this page is compilation of tabs from an unknown who goes by "indiarubb" (indiarubb@aol.com) and Olle Norin who runs a nice page listed at this site under Various Artists2 (ollenorin@hotmail.com).

"The King of Carrot Flowers Pt. 1" from In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
Inro: F - (Bb - F) - C - Bb
After the those first 6 strums of F, the quick switch occurs: you hit Bb once, then back up to F for 3 or so strums, then to th e C for however many strums. This sounds a lot more like how he does it, IMO. Oh yeah, another lesser change is that I think it actually sounds better if you play the C as a bar chord, so you can have the mute effect.
Verse:
Same as intro, but just leave the Bb - F quick switch out; at least,
that=
's how it is on the album, it sounds fine if you leave it in, really.
When it hits (eg, in the 1st verse) "and holy rattlesnakes.." it goes:
C - Bb - F
then it breaks into the Intro again (number of times played varies each
t=
ime they do this),
and then back to the verse, and so on.
"King of Carrot Flowers Pts. 2 & 3" from In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
well, this is pretty simple, especially considering it says "(f to c
to f
to c)" on the lyric sheet, even though that's not all of the
song.
Intro: (before and during the "Jesus Christ I love you" bit)
F (about 10x) C
e------1--------------------------
b--------1-----1-------5-5-----5--
G----2-------2-------5-------5----
D--3-------3-------5-------5------
A---------------------------------
E---------------------------------
something like that...change it around if you want, spice it up. Then
it
switches into just plain chord strummin, F to C.
During the trumpet bit it and in the beginnnig of the fuzzed up, fast part of the song, it goes like this
F - Bb
F - C
F - Bb
F - C
the - Bb and - C bits are fast, the last - C get two solid hits
next bit we'll call the verse: ("up and over, we got through the waves..."):
just F - C throught out, strumming varies
repeat chorus/bridge/whatever
repeat verse
repeat chorus/etc.
repeat verse
repeat chorus, end on F
