band: the Cure song: Maybe Someday album: Bloodflowers tabbed by: Joshua Cross (cure_dib@yahoo.com)as far as i know, i'm the first person to attempt a tab of this song. i don't know if this is completely accurate, but i know that it is damn near close. i know that the first three parts of the song are right, just not sure about the ending.
INTRO/VERSE
the guitar starts, then the drums come in. wait four measures, and once jason starts going crazy on the drums, do a slide down on the E string, starting somewhere around the 10th fret. then, begin playing the main riff of the song:
G ------------------------------------------------------------------------ D ------------------------------------------------------------------------ A ---------3-3---3--------------------------------3-3---3----------------- E -0-0---0---------3-3---3-/-10-10---10-\-0-0---0---------3-3---3-2-2---2- "I see you smile as you call my name...." G --------------------------------- D --------------------------------- A -3-3---3-5-5---5-6-6---6-7-7---7- x3 E --------------------------------- G -----5-------5-----5-------5- D ----------------------------- A -3-3---3-3-3---3-3---3-3-3--- E ----------------------------- (i don't know if those octaves are really played, that's just how i play it)after you play that the first time, you rest while the guitar begins. once jason does a little drum fill, you do another slide on the E string, but don't go into playing the verse. you rest another four measures, do another slide again, and then start playing the verse.
"If I could do it again, maybe just once more...." G --------------------------------- D --------------------------------- A -0-0---0-2-2---2-3-3---3-5-5---5- x3 E --------------------------------- "Then maybe someday is the last time..." G ----------------------------------------------------------- D ----------------------------------------------------------- A -7-7---7-7-7---7-7-7---7-7-7---8-8---8-8-8---8-8-8---8-8-8- E -----------------------------------------------------------like i said, i don't know if that last part is right. it's something like that. just play around with Es and Fs, use octaves. i think it's basically just one of those improvised, go crazy type endings. so have fun with it.
