Essay answers
Why you chose the Favourite Beatle you did
Adam, age 13: I said John and George because they are two of the most
genuine musicians to live; John being open and honest in interviews, and the
same with George. Also, the feeling you get when you listen to songs like
"Dear Prudence" or "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". It's hard to explain in
one paragraph why I like the Beatles; it's a lifetime of wonder and excitement.
Tina, age 20: I said Paul because he's cute, talented, sweet....need I say more? :)
Sarah, age 17: I said George because he's darn hot! Just look at
'im!
I also said Paul because I love his music a lot. It makes me happy!
Jules, age 16: I said all of them, but I lie--George is me fave, but I can't really tell anyone. It feels a bit...y'know, hypocritical...'cos I love 'em all, really....
Masha, age 16: I said John because he was an incredible man. Many of us love him with all our heart. He brought happiness, music, and peace into the world. Mainly, he was a human being and never tried to hide that. Many people try to cover up his weaknesses and make him look perfect. But he was human, and I love him for that.
Samantha, age 16: I said Paul 'cause he's cute and nice and sweet and a great musician, and a vegetarian, and did I mention cute?
Charlie, age 15: Even though I don't have a real favourite, I said John because I like some of the things that he said.
Cristina, age 14: I said Paul because I love his music, his ideas, and especially his good looks!
Liz, age 14: I said John because he was the most human of all the Beatles. He tried to be as truthful with himself as possible, and is often revealed in his songs. He was also an activist for peace, and accepting everyone as they were, and I love him for that.
Laura, age 13: I said George because he is very smart when it comes
to music. I really love listening to his songs; especially from 1967.
I also said John because...well, what can I say about him! I mean he was very
intelligent, witty person. I really like him because his songs were so deep
and sometimes realistic.
Janelle, age 12: I said John because he sang about peace and love, I think, more than the rest of the Beatles did, and I can certainly believe in that. He bared his soul in his songs (especially on Plastic Ono Band). He pretended to be a tough guy but on the inside he was just a human being in pain like the rest of us.
Michelle, age 12: I said John because he was truly a genius. I love
how brave he was.
Paul-because of his voice, looks, he is just SO smooth...
George-because of his amazing song-writing ability, and his eyes and voice
capture me.
Ringo-because he can make me laugh on my worst days. I love his sense of
humour.
Lora, age 11: I said Paul because well, look at all the songs he wrote! I mean, he probably wrote 65% of all the Beatles' songs!! I like them all but Paul seems to have done so much of the work.
Onedergirl: I said Ringo because he is a waaaay groovy drummer and the Beatles probably wouldn't have made it without him. Not only that, he's cute and sweet-seeming. What can I say?
Samantha S.: I said George because I think he's the most talented Beatle; I like his sense of humor; and he is incredibly good looking.
Why you chose the attempt you did
Aubrey, age 21: I chose attempt #4 because it's the funniest because the
dryer starts sucking in everything, including George's shirt! I like the many
things, especailly John's laugh at Ringo's sudden apprehension.
Sarah, age 17: I chose attempt #4 because it's hilarious, especially when Paul loses his sleeve and when George loses his shirt.
Jules, age 16: I chose attempt #5 because it's funny because when Ringo is drying his hands, the hand dryer goes really hyper, and all their sleeves get pulled into the dryer, and Paul pulls the thingie off the wall. (And did I add that Paul looks awful cute?)
Masha, age 16: I chose attempt #3 because I LOVE that poem John is reciting when he and Ringo are walking down the street.
Sarah, age 16: I chose attempt #5 because Ringo looks so cool in it!
Liz, age 14: I said attempt #4 becasue It is soooooo funny, with the maniac hair dryers and stuff! "There's more here than meets the eye...."
