Killarmy- Fear, Love, and War (Review by
Todd D.)
I won't rate the intro and the skits since they are short, and aren't needed in
this album.
1. Intro
2. The Push
The first songs starts the album out pretty well. Good appearance by the guest
Superb. 8.5/10
3. Militant
This joint features U-God. Though, all he says is militant in the song as the
hook. 7.5/10
4. Originators
It has a good beat to it, and the 9th Prince shines through.
8.5/10
5. Skit
6. Sweatshop
What is up with a lady talking about carrying a grenade in her pu***? Enough
said, nothing special. 7/10
7. Street Monopoly
The chorus of this song talks about being out past your bedtime. I think
Killarmy would be better off without Islord. 7.5/10
8. Afterhours Part 1
Short story which is sort of an extension of Street Monopoly
7/10
9. Trilogy
Pretty good song which features good vocals by Prodigal Sun.
8.5/10
10. Feel It
This song has an eerie background beat. I'm feeling this one.
9/10
11. Skit
12. Whatever We Want
An alright song, but nothing to write home about. 7.5/10
13. Skit
14. Monster
P.R. Terrorist seems to get a lot of vocals on this album. This joint is pretty
wicked. 8/10
15. The Hit
This song has some good beats, but it gets repeatitive.
8/10
16. One to Grow On
I don't like the chorus with starts out thumpty, thump, thump. A little part
from a war movie heightens the song a little. 7.5/10
17. Skit
18. Day One
The beats are pretty decent. Good lyrics by the 9th Prince.
8.5/10
19. Spoken Word
Killarmy talk about the meanings of their three albums.
7.5/10
20. Nonchalantly
This joint has a good flow. Tired of hearing about blue steel in a sold out
concert though. 8/10
21. The Rule
Baretta 9 has some good verses in this song. Tight background beats.
8.5/10
22. Lady Sings The Blues
One of the better songs on the album.
Good lyrics all around. 9/10
Overall, I give this album a 7.5/10. I was looking forward to it, but I came out
disappointed.
Caedel's oppinion: I was very disappointed with
this album. I felt that the previous 2 were a much better effort and I had
high hope. Although, I did have to grow to like the first album. I
may have to do the same here.
