Wu-Empire News

Wu-News 2000

Dec 6th: The whole Wu-Tang Clan has been all over BET on shows "106 & Park" and also "Rap City: the Basement". They hit #1 on the Billboard charts for 'The W'. On '106 & Park', Rza said he wanted to do another 3 part music video. They also had a pathetic Wu quiz to see who the Biggest Wu fan was in the audience. Questions like "What was the Wu's first LP called?" I know the regular visitors to this site could get this without a thought, but of course some idiot on the show had to answer 'Wu-Tang Forever'. Thankfully, U-God had the nerve to tell one guy to just forget it when he was giving all the wrong answers.
You can chat with Method Man and Redman on December 17th at 12pm Pacific time at Hob.com.

November 28th: Chip Banks was murdered. He was part of American Cream Team if you didnt know
Also, after Ol' Dirty appeared in concert with the Wu in New York, he appeared again in public. This time he was at a Philly McDonalds signing autographs where he was caught by police. Someone help dirty.. please

November 15th: It appears that the Wu-Tang.com website is back up. And now under construction is The U-God Website. Also, you can now find 'The W' on napster.
Rza is being sued by Gee Street Records for $75,000. Something about a breach in contract.
Method Man has recorded his next LP, 'Tical 0: The Prequel', but it has been delayed to March.

November 9th: There are now 7 Wu-Tang songs floating around. On Napster, you can get this 7 song sampler which includes a new song with Redman and one short movie outtake. On the sampler, I heard one song that definitely had Rza's touch, that was "Hollow Bones". Only 2 more weeks!!

October 19th: Street Life is now signed to Def Jam and is beginning to work on his album. Gravediggaz have finished their album. It will be 17 tracks and the Rza is not on it, only Poetic and Frukwan. Masta Killah will be releasing a single soon, so look out for that.
Killah Priest has left the Wu camp and will now be known as Masada. Apparently has some differences in oppinion with the Rza.
Finally, the new Wu-Tang video, "Protect Ya Neck (the jump off)" has been airing on BET and MTV.

October 13th: Wu-Tang showed off Wu-Mansion West yesterday. It was pretty tight. U-God appears to be the messy member of the clan. Anyways, HBO has a new series called 'Oz' which will feature Method Man. Also, there are reports that along with Busta Rhymes, 'The W' will also feature Aaliyah and Snoop Dogg. This does not sound good to me, but has Rza and the clan let us down before??
If anyone is interested in getting an origional copy of Shyhiem's "Manchild" CD you can goto Tower Records

October 9th: Okay okay... I was wrong about Cribs. It comes on This thursday the 12th at 10pm on MTV.
Anyone interested in getting the newest Wu-Wear and the new Wu-Tang Wallabee, go to Wu-Wear USA

October 5th: Be sure to check out MTV's "Cribs" tonight at 10pm ET. They will be going to the Wu-Mansion.
Also, Method Man and Redman are featured on the new Limp Bizkit LP, 'The Chocolate Starfish and The Hotdog Flavored Water'.

September 26th: Good News: I have heard that Rza produced 16 tracks of 'The W'. Nas will also be on the new album. MTVs 'Direct FX' featured a few clips of the Wu making their new video. You could definitely tell there was a real Flinstone kinda set.
Method Man's LP 'Tical 3' is supposed to be out on December 19th.
La the Darkman will be on the next Vanilla Ice LP.
Wu-Syndicate have signed to 'Power Rules Entertainment'.

September 23rd: Wu-Tang have filmed their video. It turns out that it is a 3 part video featuring "Protect Ya Neck (The Jump Off)", "Gravel Pits", and "Be Careful". You can look forward to seeing them in a caveman setting and a club setting. The video is supposed to run about 10 minutes long. I am not sure what station will actually play the whole thing.
Also, Dirty is making progress in his rehabilitation. Go Dirty!
Ghostface Killah and Rza will be on the new 'Lyricist Lounge Vol. 2' CD. That comes out on November 7th.

September 19th: Rza and Ol' Dirty have a project planned together called 'The Abbott and The Drunk Monk'. I have heard that Pop The Brown Hornets has dropped another LP, 'Underground Emperor'. Also, Wu-Tang's first single, "Protect Ya Neck (The Jump Off)" has surfaced on some radios and a Clue? tape. I am personally feeling the stuff, but I do want to hear some 36 Chambers type stuff from the Wu. I hope this Party shit isnt Rza's new style. Finally, everyone should check out Backstage so you can see just how high Meth and Red are.

September 10th: It appears that Wu-Tang Clan's second single "Gravel Pits" has surfaced on mixtapes and can even be found on Napster. After listening to the song, I'm not sure what to say but just check it out for yourself.

September 1st: Wu-Tang's next LP, "The W" has been pushed back to November 21st. Also, the first single is going to be "Protect Ya Neck: (The Jump Off)".

August 26th: Rza will be online with System of a Down on Wednesday, Sept. 7th at 9 pm EST. They will be at http://www.twec.com Check them out if you can.

August 17th: There will be a 'West Coast Wu-Tang Killah Bees' album coming in 2001. Look out for that. Also, it looks like Holocaust changed his name to Warclout.
The set release date for Method Man's new album is November 18th. Method Man will also appear on DJ Lethal's new album. Finally, Ghostface and U-God are accused of Assaulting a reporter. Apparently, the guy wanted an interview with them and he got a little pissed when they said no... and he claims they hit him in the head a few times. Ghost wouldn't do that now, would he?
12 O' Clock and Prodigal Sun are doing an album together under the name "2 in a Row". Shyhiem's LP will finally be released this fall on Loud Records.
Speaking of Loud, I heard parts of those Wu-Tang Loud Rocks songs. "For Heavens Sake" is the least favorite. It is basically the same song with a rock beat added in during the chorus. "Shame on a Nigga" is nice. It has System of a Down singing the lyrics and doing the music, but it includes a short verse from Rza. Finally, "Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nothin' to F' Wit" is the tightest. That song has a cool rock beat and has Rza and Deck resinging their verses for the song. Try and check them out when you can.
Below is a possible track listing for the new Wu album. All but 2 songs are produced by Rza. The other 2 are done by 4th Disciple and Mathematics. By the looks of this, I wouldnt say it 3 Discs. Maybe it's for the better, or maybe this is just the Disc to take us back to 36 Chambers. More on that when I find out. Anyway, here:
01. Intro
02. Rugged Land of Shaolin
03. Bee Stinga (ft. Cappadonna)
04. Hustle
05. Task Force (ft. Cappadonna)
06. Wu-tang Sword Style (ft. Killa Sin & Holocaust)
07. Gravel Pits

August 11th: Another possible title for the next Wu-Tang album is 'The W'. One of the first songs to come out appear from the album will be "Gravel Pits". Also, the track with Busta Rhymes is going to be "U G.O.T". Don't forget that Wu-Tang's San Francisco concert will be live on BroadcastAmerica.Com at 11 pm Eastern time on Sunday.

August 10th: The "Nine Rings of Wu-Tang #5" should havve come out yesterday. Go try and find one if you can.

August 6th: Look out for Ghostface to appear on the remix of Mos Def's Mos Def’s "Ms. Fat Booty". Also, look for Busta Rhymes on the new Wu-Tang album.
Method Man and Redman will be on the soundtrack for 'Bait', a new Jamie Foxx movie. The song is called "Who You Be". The sountrack should be out Sept. 15th. Finally, Method Man was on Rock N Jock Bowling yesterday. He was partnered with Eve. It will probably be replayed on MTV at some point in time, so look out for that.

July 27th: Rza was on the radio out here and said that the new WU-TANG CLAN album would be out on Nov 7th, 2000.

12. Pillow Talk
13. Pretty Thugs
14. Public Service
15. What's The Deal
16. Black Out/Goodnight

July 4th: It seems that Rza and the clan members are a little upset by all the hate they've been recieving about their latest LPs so they are going back to their roots. Rza will be getting back in the drivers seat with the production and he will go back to sampling. Also, their tour is now titled 'The Underground Tour', which is why many of the venues are small clubs and such.

June 28th: There are many Wu projects to come. First off, there will be an album from All In Together Now (Gza, Ol' Dirty, & Rza), which is currently untitled. Rza is supposed to be working on 2 more new projects, including "Bobby Digital In Stereo - The Sequel" and "Rza Presents the Flood". Street Life is also expected to release an LP, titled 'Wu Thug'.

June 25th: Those of you who have been visiting in the past few months may remember me asking if Wu would bless us with a triple LP. Apparently, Wu will do just that. The first 2 discs will include Rza's newest style, while the third will be the much promised continuation to 36 Chambers. The CD is said to be out in October.
Dj Muggs, will be putting out his 'Soul Assassins, Chapter 2', which will feature Gza.

Finally, Ol' Dirty has been sentanced to more treatment... suprised?

June 18th: First off, sorry about the delay in updates. Cilvarings has an LP coming out which Rza has done 3 beats for. Shabazz the Disciple has an EP coming and eventually he will put out an LP too. Gza, Prodigal Sun, and Killah Preist are featured on the new Rodney Kendrick album, out now.
Ol' Dirty will be on 5 tracks on the next Wu-Tang album, but he was not there in the studio recording with everyone else. Word is that we can expect a continuation of 36 Chambers. Let's hope they can take us back there.

June 7th: Raekwon and Ghostface will make an appearence on Busta Rhymes new LP, 'Anarchy'.
Method Man and Redman will be on LL Cool J's newest LP, 'G.O.A.T.'. The song is titled "Forget About It"
Killarmy's 3rd LP should be coming out in September and will be titled 'The Six Men Wetting'. A little news about the new Wu LP, will it feature production from 4th Disciple, Mathematics and Rza. I am hoping that it is all Rza and maybe One song from the others, but that's me!
Method Man is working on his next LP, due out this Fall. Look for more production from Erick Serman, and a track with Kelis. Finally, Ummm.. Method Man to play Boba Fett in the next Star Wars movie. Hmm, we'll see about that one.

May 28th: As many of you know, it has been discovered that Cappadonna's manager was an informant for the government. Apparently the Wu are under investigation for gun running and other things. The manager was fired and now the Wu plan to distance themselves from Cappa, even going as far as saying that he was never in the group to begin with. I think that is fair.

May 23rd: I finally sat down to watch Rza's movie "Domestic Violence". The movie is kinda strange. Basically about women getting beat by their men and being sent to prision. While the story is not so great, Rza's proved that he has some nice directing skills. The best part of the tape is the music video for "The Night The Earth Cried" by Gravediggaz. The other videos are cool too. If you can't get a copy of this joint, at least try to find someone who does so you can check it out. You can order it from Wu-Tang Filmz.
Killarmy will be releasing their 3rd LP this year, this time on Loud Records. It will feature U-God on a track called "It's Militant".
Finally, peep 'The Family Values Tour 1999' LP, which features Method Man and Redman doing "Da Rockwilder" live.

May 18th: The Wu are beginning to make some appearances on other LPs. Inspectah Deck will be on the next X-Ecutioners album, 'Building from Scratch'. Method Man and Redman will appear on the new Ruff Ryders: Ryde or Die Vol. 2 LP. Look for that on June 20th. Finally, at BET.com you can view a Method Man/ Redman Movie, 'How High: 2000'.

May 14th: I finally received my copy of Rza's movie "Domestic Violence". There is only one thing that I am mad about. It was promised on the website that it would be signed by Rza himself. I see no signature on there, so.... that sucks. I haven't watched it yet. Its only an hour long and it contains music videos. I'll tell ya'll what I think when I've finished watching it.

May 13th: Look for Method Man and other rappers at the Spring Break Jam 2000, on May 19 at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York. To get tickets you can call, (516) 794-9300

May 10th: Ghostface talked to MTV about a few upcoming projects. He confirmed that he and Rae are going to do 'Cuban Linx 2000'. He said that he expected to finish the new Wu-LP in a month, and that it would be out by August or September. He also mentioned a project he is doing with Cappadonna, who is working on 'The Pillage 2', called 'Crayons'. Finally, he said that after the new album was done there will be a Wu-Tang Tour, so get ready to mark your calenders.

May 8th Second Update: Look out for Rza to appear on a track on Eminem's new LP, 'Marshall Mathers'. The track is called "The Anthem". Also, the latest issue of The Source has a review of Killah Preist LP. They gave it 3 mics.

May 8th: Finally, some good news. Wu-Tang Clan has started recording their 3rd LP in L.A. The LP is set for a Summer 2000 release and will feature all nine members. They have already completed 7 tracks. I wonder if we will be blessed with a 3 disc LP.
It appears that Loud Records will be releasing a compilation album covering many of their artist songs. As far as the Wu goes, Rage Against the Machine will do "Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nothin to F' Wit" and Korn, Limp Bizkit, Rage and the RZA will remake "Protect Ya Neck". That should all be very interesting. Look for Killah Priest LP out tomorrow.

May 3rd: For those of you that did not know, Gza had a free concert for earth day this weekend at Randolf-Macon. Sorry, I didn't get the info out sooner. I hear it was tight.
Killah Priest confirms that there will be a Four Horsemen LP later this year. For those of you who don't know, Four Horsemen consist of Killah Priest, Canibus, Kurupt, and Ras Kass. Pharoahe Monch will also appear on that LP. Priest also let it be known that Masada is an acronym for "Mostly Anaylizing Situations And Drama Artistically". That's it.

April 28th: I just checked out the Wu-Tang song from Tony Touch's LP. "The Abduction" cool Wu joint. It's one of those joints you listen to for the lyrics and not necessarily the beat. Members on the track include Gza, Rza, Masta Killah, Ghostface Killah and Inspectah Deck. I haven't heard the rest of the Tony joint, so I dont know if it is worth getting. Try to check out the song though. It's not often we get hear these Wu-colabos.

April 25th: The Wu is facing another lawsuit. This time it is from their former lawyer who represented them in a case against a video dancer, who claimed she was verbally abused by the Clan. The lawyer, Ed McPherson, is suing for $35,000 stating that the Wu has failed to pay him for his legal services. Who is suprised????

April 21st: I have the track listing for the Killah Priest LP "A View From Masada". I haven't listened to much of it yet. It sounds much like his last LP and he even has Bone type song. Track listing is below:

MTV has what appears to be a tight video compilation DVD. It is called And Ya Don't Stop: Hip Hop's Greatest Videos Vol. 1. It will come out on April 25th. On it will be Wu-Tang Clan's "C.R.E.A.M." video, amoung others. The track listing is below:

April 3rd: About a week ago, Ol' Dirty was sentenced to 90 days in a correctional facility after violating his parole. Dirty will be placed under phychiatric evalution. If he is lucky, he will be put on probation. If he is not lucky, he will be sentenced to a prison term. Now, this means that the Wu album will be pushed back, but that is no suprise. On June 23rd, he'll be back in court. Until then...

March 4th: A little more on Shyheim's LP, Man Child. The LP is pretty tight. I am impressed with Shyheim. It is a shame that it is taking so long to put this one out. The production is very strong. Joints like "I Declare War" and "Furious Anger", which features Big L, are tight. "Wildflower 2000", which is a similar song to Ghostface's "Wildflower," is also tight. Another harsh woman bashing song. Look for his LP in April. Peace

March 3rd: I just listened to a copy of Shyheim's LP, 'Man Child', and it's alright. I haven't been big on Shy since his first LP, but this one is decent. With appearances from Method Man, Tekitha, and Superb, there are some tight tracks to bump your head too. THe thing i really dont like is how little Shy claims to be so hard... it's just hard to take him seriously, since we've seen him since he was like 13. ANyways... you should peep it on its release. WU-Tang is gonna come back hard... better prepare for 'THE EIGHTH DIAGRAM'.

Other things to note, Rza's Bobby Digital Movie is finally available. It is called Domestic Violence. Supposedly you can order it at Wu-tangflimz.com, but the site is down now. Feb. 2nd: Tonight is a good night. I got a copy of Ghostface's new LP, 'Supreme Clientele.' This is what the Wu is about. Finally, a Wu-Lp that makes me proud. I had great expectations for Ghost and he is shinning. Tracks like "Nutmeg" which features the Rza, make this one strong. With appearances from Rza, Gza, Raekwon, Superb, Method Man, Cappadonna, 60 Second Assassin, Hell Razah, U-God, Masta Killah, and others, this LP is has an all-star line-up. I suggest you dont hesitate picking this one up. I am not sure if it can match his first solo, but it is not far from it. I'll have more after I check it out more. "Ghost is back..." Feb. 1st: First off, lets pay respect to the Rza and his family for the passing of his mother. Rest in Peace. Looks like Ol' Dirty is going back to jail after violating his parole. When you think it will end, it doesn't. Dirty apparently threatened his escort to a court appearance for carrying a bottle of alcohol in his pants. With his next hearing, Dirty could face prison time. Being locked up has caused him to miss other court appearences. Looks like he's in a world of trouble. This will probably delay the release of the next Wu LP.

January 15th 2000: The Nine Rings of Wu-Tang comic now have a website, Nine Rings Website. Check it out. Also if you are interested and ordering something you can goto Avalon Comics Website. Finally, Ghost's LP has once again been delayed to Feb 8th.
