Born January 7, 1956, Steven Paul Perry became interested in music as a mere child. Playing Ukelele at 8, acoustic guitar at 9, and electric guitar at 10, Perry went on to study at Boston's prestigious Berklee School of music.
Perry left Berklee, however, to join Boston cult band Orchestra Luna. He remained in Luna and its later manifestations for eleven years, untl he decided to persue his own vision as a songwritwer/singer/band leader.
Perry continued with this band until the early 90's, when he began touring with such acts as John Hiatt, Little Feat and Robert Cray, the latter gig taking him as far ashore as Australia and New Zealand.
He has appeared on the Tonight Show and David Letterman, and more recently joined TH & the Wreckage , appearing on the band's recent CD.
Perry's current project is a band called The Human Condition. A CD is planned for next year.
Blue Light Steven Paul Perry's contribution to Boston Rock and Roll Anthology #20, is a song which he wrote lyrics to over a melody left behind by Johnny Ray, a recent collaborator. Perry says "It was about the feeling that a performer gets when on stage with a big sound and lights. That feeling of exhileration that comes when the crowd roars and the lights bathe the performer in an other worldly glow....(hence blue light)."
