I still live in the New York Underground, a state of mind that shifts and changes wherever I go. Star studded nights at Warholhang out Max's Kansas City - I was there. Backstage chaos of undergrountheater productions with the trans-gender stars, immortalized in Lou Reed's song "Walk on the Wild Side" - I was there. Harried adventures of daily life with Warhol Trash Star Holly Woodlawn - I was there. The underground drug scene fueled with methedrine, to the abyss that so many went to for experimentation - I was there. And its a miracle I never fell off the edge! Instead, I used the 'experiences' and became a participant in turning the tides of the New York scene towards a new direction in music........... |
...The exciting rise of the New York Dolls living with guitarist Sylvain Sylvain,- that was me.Crashing onto the scene with my own band The Stilettos, Debbie Harry- my contribution. The crowds, the the blackness at CBGB's - in the thick of it with the originals Patti Smith, The Ramones, Suicide, Richard Hell |
and I still recognize myself! Today, I could go to the end of the earth, the tiniest community and if there is something cool happening it finds me. Sometimes they come out of the walls in droves. The music has no clue of what there is around us. Let me know about cool bands and things that are happening to you!

Hangin around sometimes with Joey Ramone and other assorted suspects, webcasting Music Festivals and having the time of my life! Writing songs and singing while I lay on a pool table if there is one around. |

Writing an autobiographical novel of the era which promises to be like no other ever written. Writing articles for the underground tabloid NY WASTE Magazine. Producing The Woodstock Roundtable and programs for radiowoodstock.com. |
