constantly changing, when something better comes along, keep an open eye
1)Farmers manual: Explorers_we CD OR
Comes with a bonus cd. Though i now nothing about it, having only the promo version. I'm shore its good however, cause the albums is absolutely fantastic. I had heard some previous works of FM and if I'm not wrong this is there third full-length release. They've here kept on doing the fucked up drumīn bass rhythms there known for, but what is really amazing with release is that the song (1) is parted up into 60 different starting points, allowing you with the use of the shuffle button to have rather infinite playing possibilities (iīd guess anyway, if the shuffle-button really is working at random). Listened to linear it starts with a quiet scary, paranoic (does the word exist? If not it does now.) Emptiness that slowly builds up with the small pops and crackles so typical for Farmers Manual, till the great distorted rhythms come in. Listened to linear its absolutely schizophrenic. Listened to with the shuffle button pressed its even more so and i must say that i love it. 9/10
2)Macronympha: Testmixes, deconstruction and the layers of sound/Beneath the surface c60 Msnp productions
In my wiew the best way to listen to this work is to plug it into a walkman, turn up the volume and keep the earphones on in your everyday activities. The effect is trumendous, totally secluded from outside sound and surrounded by this amazing mass of noise the whole perception is altered and distorted, it effects sight, thought, feel and taste and gives a fantastic experience, somewhat like being on a mindaltering drug. Macronympha has since the beginning been one of the most interesting noise bands and an innovator of the genre that has contstantly fed us with brilliant works of harsh noise, and continues to do so. This tape was though sent to me without any info, so im not shure about its availabilty, however it demands attention so get in contact with Msnp. Now. 9/10
3)Deutsch Nepal: Comprendido!... Time stop! ...and world ending.
Cd Cold meat industry.
Lina baby doll aka Deutsh Nepal is definitley one of the leaders of the experimental industrial genre, this is his fourth full-lenght cd and he has just kept on develloping. The sound is less ritual, gone are the etnich influences and its a more electronic sounding album all together. Also for the first time Lina actually sings on a couple of tracks and the result is very good, some of the tracks are simply genius, slow dark rythmichal pieces with occasional voice samples ore singing that really is fantastic. It almost holds all the way, unfortunatley on the end the quality goes down a bit, only on three songs but it puts it down from its place as album of the year. Damn good anyway. 9/10
4) Angels of life in a psychic wasteland CD Eerie
Eerie records is without a doubt one of the world leading record companys in the experimental
world genre who doesnt indulge in mass pseudomelancholia and has here made a compilation
album, probably to attract attention to the genre and to gather some of the leaders in this kind
of music today. Also perhaps to get out with their politcal message, which seems to be of
some importance to the label..As any cd compilation its got its ups and downs, but as a whole
i must say that i ammmost impressed by the music here displayed.Although this genre has its
fett in music tahat is the same as centurys ago they here show a level of idees and cretivness
that is very refreshing and shows tahat is probably a very good thing to step back from todays
conventions to be ble to look forward.Groups such as Suonihiuksisto, Vas deferens
organisation, Stock, hausen and walkman, Deep turtle, Violent onsen geisha and Drain all
display fantastic music and idees and it also feels great to get away from the lack of humour
and selfdistance that unfortunatley is a fact in most of todays music. 9/10
5) Legendary pink dots: Chemical Playschool 10 Cd Soleillmoon
Theres been a few of them, the Lpd albums in the years, and just after their new album Hallway of the gods they deliver this formerly secret album, formerly only sold on concerts and recorded here and there during the last years. In the booklet is written "could this be the escape from the "hallway", and it just might be, the material is in my eyes , if not better then at least more interesting than "hallway" they continue their usual style, experimenting with psychadelic, industrial, and even progressive elements, and their reicepe is a winning one, just as much now as ever. Some mellow rocksongs , psychadelic jam and some humor, this is really good. 8/10
