GGFH: Halloween. cd Dreamtime recording/Peaceville

I dare say that this is probably one of the sickest bands ever to excist, infact Marilyn manson seems rather bleek in comparison. This cd is a collection of early demos from 86-89 and features happy songs about such things as childabuse, fetalhead collecting and girlfriend murdering. The music accompaning this is very good, on top of industrial rythms lays incredebly dark sounds, that are still melodic. The vocals are twisted and quite amazing, this together with frequent voicesamples make this a cult album 8/10

Godflesh: songs of love and hate. cd Earache

Godflesh has always been a little ahead of their time creating techo metal in 84 and hardcore crossover before anyone had heard of ministry or nin, still the last album was concidered as a milestone so it was interesting to see what the new album would bring. First of all they have gone back to a more agressive sound, guitar and voice, and mixing some hip hop rhytms that gives shape to some of the songs. Also the song materials degenerated a bit, its not these amazing melodies it used to be, the lyrics though are as good as ever, dark and cynical. The conclusion must be that they have degenerated a bit but putting that aside it still remains a good album by one of the most nihilistic crossover band ever. 7/10

Hybryds & Nebulon: Clavis cd Old europa cafe

This is a concept cd, containing art and music around a concept written by Nebulon to which Hybryds have made the music. The idee is that by concentration and trance you can look in to your genetic code and read the "Clavis" (key)which will make it possible to let the "first ones" in, a group that has inhabited the earth before us but are now trapped in a paralell dimension. A way to make this easier is the use of strange music, art and surroundings, and therefore this cd has been made, a way to spread the idee and make it easier fore those who attempt to do this. The music Hybryd has made in this purpose is dark, minimalistic and very ritual, sadly though this new direction in hybryds evolution doesnt work well in comparison with earlier works, its much too minimalistic and monotumous, also on the first part of the album a not so well processed voice preaches of the Clavis teory, which is a bit irritating. Not bad but only a few tracks reach the level they´ve earlier kept. 6/10

Hybryds. The Atavistic fetisj mcd Artware productions

This is a limited art edition (999 ex) Beutifully packed in pvc and with a black and white paper inlay with sexual and etnich art, not neccesary really, you would have to buy it anyway, as all hybryd releases, but a very nice complement. The first to tracks are in the more ambient riitual-trance vein and the to last more rythmical. All are fantastic and there is really no excuse for not buying this except for the fact that its probably not many left. This is yet another step in Hybryds career and it really must be folowed 9/10

Killing joke: Democracy Cds butterfly records

Classic band this and the song is damn good, at least in the first remix version that sounds rather body, not perhaps in the others that are ten minutes ambient songs that doesnt sound a bitlike the original and arent any good either. So its perhaps not worth buying. But a good song.4/10

Killing flor: Divide by zero CD Reconstriction I like this album about five seconds in the first song, then that cahnges into dilike and when the singer starts singing it turns into hate. I really really hate it.Really really do.the producer must have been mentally ill when producing this. The record company must have been deperate to jump on to the crossover trend and found nothing else available.I can see no other explanation.Scary.And incredibly bad.A really odd thing is that the only two songs you can even listen to are pure hardcore and arent electronic at all.prehaose they have chosen the wrong direction, what do i know. Anyway the rest of the tracks you cant listen to, cause youll be sickened with the absolutley incredibly bad melodies and arramgements. And ocourse the singer who appears to be incapable to sing in the right tune, ore any specific suchh at all.Scary.1/10

Lab animals: Disposal. cd Off Beat

What strikes me when listening to this album is that it sounds rather a lot like Nitzer Ebbs big hit, a bit ore classic body perhaps, faster, but the guitars are there and he singings also similar. Unfortunately it doesnt come near the qualti of Nep, the melodies are weak and the lyrics are so badly written and sung that they doesnt fit the rhytm. On a few songs they get it to work and then its wonderful but it doesnt hold all the way 5/10

Legendary pink dots: Chemical Playschool 10 Cd Soleilmoon

Theres been a few of them, the Lpd albums in the years, and just after their new album Hallway of the gods they deliver this formerly secret album, formerly only sold on concerts and recorded here and there during the last years. In the booklet is written "could this be the escape from the "hallway", and it just might be, the material is in my eyes , if not better then at least more interesting than "hallway" they continue their usual style, experimenting with psychadelic, industrial, and even progressive elements, and their reicepe is a winning one, just as much now as ever. Some mellow rocksongs , psychadelic jam and some humor, this is really good. 8/10

Macronympha: Testmixes, deconstruction and the layers of sound/Beneath the surface c60 Msnp productions

In my wiew the best way to listen to this work is to plug it into a walkman, turn up the volume and keep the earphones on in your everyday activities. The effect is trumendous, totally secluded from outside sound and surrounded by this amazing mass of noise the whole perception is altered and distorted, it effects sight, thought, feel and taste and gives a fantastic experience, somewhat like being on a mindaltering drug. Macronympha has since the begining been one of the most interesting noise bands and an innovator of the genre that has contstantly fed us with brilliant works of harsh noise, and continues to do so. This tape was though sent to me without any info, so im not shure about its availabilty, however it demands attention so get in contact with Msnp. Now. 9/10

4) Mark 13: survival. cd Linear records

> There always seme to be some acts who have simply no feeling at all for such things as design or writing, but still manages to make fantastic music, and this new american act certainly is one of them. I was almost repelled by the ugly design that looked as if it had been on an old amiga 500 computor game or something equally bad. It looked better on the inside but was covered with not very well written lyrics filled to the brim with clichees, fortunatley neither facts matter, the lyrics are well processed and turn in to a rythmic and melodic tool rather than singing and the song material itself is some of the best electro i have ever heard.Comparison could be made with Haujobb ore Mentallo but Mark 13 still keeps a personal style and with sucess manages to keep to electro genre alive and even push it a bit further. 8/10

Mazk: Sound pressure level CD OR

This is the second abum out on this new started english label, featuring Masama Akita from incredibly hyped Merzbow and Zbigniew Karkowski a former memer of Phauss and The hafler trio. With such a lineup its hard to imagie a bad result and, no surprise, the result is just as good as you could expect. Instead of the usual harsh Merzbow sound Mazk has with a much more soft, nasty rustling noise upon low constanst rumblings and somitimes even digital sounding noises that create a whole differnet experience then your usual Merzbow album. An irrittaing thing with this album though is the fact that only the first song of the three is a collaboration while the two other tracks are one each mixed by M.A and K.Z, i assume it is remixes of the first track, but its really hard to tell. The two mixes are also each 20 minuites long, while the first is onlt ten, so its perhaps not really a full album? Anyway the two mixes actually sound better theb the first track and this releaase satands well up maongst the numerous noise releases today, especially the Transparent track mixed by M.A is quite amazing 8/10

Meat beat manifesto: Subliminal sandwich. cd Play it again sam

Its under a nice digipack that Jack Dangers offers us his latest work, a double cd clocking on over 140 minuites of music(!) so it is good? Yes you really must edmit this old innovator innovates again, he blends styles such as ambient, trip hop and dub with quite a sucess. Theambiemt backgrounds gives a nice mood which he holds on to for the whole first cd and add to this rythm and interesting voicesamples. On the second cd he leaves this to go exploring through out the techno world not as good perhaps but quite interesting. 6/10

Multimood sampler 1986-1996 cd Multimood

In the jubilee of ten years in existance Multimood has released this sampler, compiling one song from all still available releases, 16 to be more exact and clocking on almost 80 minuites of fantatic ambient, avant garde and experimental compostions. With no limits restrecting their work, they relaes tremendous innovative music, here featured with ywelv gropus with tops in class acts such as Peter Fromadher, Asmus Tietchens and Roedelius, all taking their own path and doing it very well. You cant possibly neglect the music from this label if you claim yourself to be even the slightest interested in innovative music 8/10

Muslimgauze: Hebron massacre. mcd Soleilmoon records

This cd was a response to the Hebron Massacre in 94, it cointains one song, over 25 minuites long. Its a rather rhytmical piece cointainning a ot of arabian sounds, strings and drums, theres also a base that gives melody to the compositon. Over this is layered a mass of voice samples concerning the subject and a really high pitched noised. The result is quite amazing and gives hypnotic trancy feel to the song by the constant repetition. Muslimgauze prove once again their fantastic ability to make this kind of music. 8/10

Mz 412 : in nomine dei nostri satanas luciferi excelsi. cd Cold meat industry.

I´ve heard that this cd became something of a bestseller,i dont know if its true, but if it is you really must say it pays of to have a satanistic image, the musics not that good at least not in comparision with a lot of cmi:s other bands. Most of it is very dark ambient, ritual ore rythmic industrial, i got me impressed at first but the songs are to alike and i got bored. When they change direction it gets very good, the two tracks of distorted rythm for exampel, but it also gets very dull sometimes, it might be fun to listen to the sound of sheep when its done by Sheep on drugs, but when its taken seriously? I do like parts of it but some is not so good. Nice with experimental bands who doesnt just go with the intellectual image though, but is this better? 6/10
