There was no special reason. We felt that we had to make music, and we still
feel the same.
How did you land your contract with off beat?
A friend gave a tape to Off Beat. Fortunately the guys listened to it and
immediately made an offer. It was one of only two tapes that were given to
labels.
Whats the reason behind the name?
It’s taken from the movie Bladerunner. It’s the bad name for the replicants.
At least in the german translation.
What instruments do you use?
We don’t use very much equipment. Almost 100% of all sounds is generated by
the Akai S-3000 sampler at the moment. There are also some synthesizers we
use.
What are your musical influences?
Everything we can learn from. And we want to learn a lot. That’s the best way
to keep the music in progression.
Coming from the very big german ebm electro sceen, what do you think
sets you apart from the others?
Simply the music and the fact that we don’t really belong to that scene.
Do you feel connected to similar german bands such as :wumpscut: for
exampel?
Is Wumpscut really similar to haujobb? We know Rudy since about two years and
he’s a funny guy, but the music is totally different. Why do people always
compare these two projects?
What was the reason for blending more modern techno influences in the
music?

The key-word here is „modern". One of our main characters as musicians is that
we always want to go ahead, to progress. It’s not needed to talk of techno
influences. Our music is „techno" in the best sense of the term, but at the
same time it’s different from the music style which is usually called the
same.
How has the response been of the new sound of sfasp?
It’s been well. People need to be challenged. It’s sometimes hard for the
listener of course but basically and especially in our music. They need and
expect it, though they may not be conscious of it.
Why did you realease a dubbel cd with remixes and samples?
One of the reasons was to make people understand what we’re doing and how. One
other is imply our creativity. We felt that we had to go further and put some
of the tracks into another dimension and context.
Who are the men behinf Haujobb
It’s Daniel Myer and Dejan Samardzic. Once there was a third person but things
change and he left after we recorded Freeze Frame Reality.
Lately its been talk of haujobb splitting, is it true, why?
It’s not true. We don’t know why people are always telling such things. We’re
working on the next album right now.
Which are the projects youve been said to have ended haujobb to start
working on?
We are working on some side-projects, but haujobb is and will always be our
main project. There are some projects. A Drum’n’Bass project called
„dots&dashes", also some solo works of Daniel called „Myer". Then some
projects of Daniel with other people: „NEWT" with Andreas Meyer of Froma Tadre
and „Cleen" with another singer. But look out for the new haujobb stuff.
Planned release is in late summer/autumn 98.
