There's not much more I have to add to what Gay's already said. Essentially the Distractions started as a side project for Gay and was just something for he, Curt and I to do. I never imagined back then that this is where we would be now. Though we always had aspirations of rock greatness. Curtis and I used to talk extensively while walking home from Gay's about how we were going to take over the world. This band couldn't have been possible without the support of a lot of people. I'd like to thank anybody hat helped us over the years. Especially Dunbar and Jive who were always there to provide a lift when needed. Well, maybe not Jive considering he did try to kill Gay that time....

As for the future, Gay's summed that up to. I think the Raucous Caucus has the potential to be the band the Distractions always wanted to be. When it gets up and running a new site will be designed. I've learned a lot at Rye High this year, and the new si e will be a lot better. Hopefully more interactive too. Until then, this page will remain up in case anyone's feeling nostalgic. Take care everybody. BCR 4ever.

Yo! Well, Friends, thank you so much for your support over the years - MCBEAL - thanks for the shout out, especially if you are who I think you are! If you did not know already, yes, the Distractions are no more. I guess two years of inactivity would be a clear indication, huh? Yes yes yes - well, listen - we are regrouping and to tell you the truth, me and Cameron are thinking about starting another band with a different lineup and some new surprises. The new group Raucous Caucus will probably be coming a ya in the summer with new tracks. Me and Cammy are co-producing a new double record of demos that we do not plan to commercially release but will be available upon demand and used for promotional purposes ... to get on a label that ISN'T based out of Por ugal... On top of that I have a third album of material written which is far more darker and more guitar oriented that will be a single record that I'll work on once these are in the can - note how the phrase 'inactivity' can be a deceptive one. Of course we want the Caucus to be much more larger, not only musically but with our audiences and our impact. I just want to let you know that we appreciate our small but devoted fan base enormously - that's why we keep on tickin' - and I know this group has been on again and off again which is frustrating to be sure, but we're hungry and once we finally get the wheels in motion we will take this to the global level. Can you get to that? I know I'm overtly ambitous but I don't know what I would possibly do if it w ren't for my music and being on stage. Gag. Okay, before this gets real corny, I'll stop... But, seeing as how this page is all but defunkt I figured I should at least send a message out to let you know that we haven't forgotten about you and we will even set up a new a better webpage, a newsletter, merchandise - all of that bullshit - once the new band gets rolling. TAKE CARE gay

It's really too bad you punks disbanded - played your album at work this summer, and had people asking where they could get a copy. Only good thing that came from the break up would be that a drum machine finally has a chance to make it big if the Distr ctions ever do get back together.

This is a pretty cool page, guys. Especially since you did it yourselves. It's a hell of a lot better than a lot of the professionally done sites I've seen, no joke. Halifax isn't the same without you- I can't wait for your return. Cheers.

I had the unique opportunity to see Jeff and his bandmates in concert not once, not 2x, but THREE TIMES!!!! (yes, you can all envy me now). I was surprised at how much more alive the music seemed to be when seen in person than on the tape - which is now oren out. The band put their all into every concert I was at, and if given the opportunity to see Jeff & the Distractions live again, you can bet that I would be first in line to get a ticket. BTW - Chris -> go easy on the drums, ok?! : )

(I was watching BT cause I thought TMS were supposed to be on that day but I found you guys instead which is very kool) then I saw you the next ay at the Pavilion. I think you guys have an awesome sound. Never knew that Auburn acutally had people with talent like yours. Well you sum it all up YOU GUYS RULE. I hear you, Jeff Gay are producing The Mod Squad's Album, Make sure they put Looking out f r number one on there. It's the best song. Well, keep the Talent, Amanda. P.S. can you email me and tell me when you are playing again at the Pavilion? TKS.

Ah The Destractions. An interesting bunch indeed. An eclectic bunch that feed of each other to produce truly unique music. Hatem's good looks making up for Cam's homeliness is just one such example. Now if only you guys could develop a sound similar to Eddie V and the boys. They are truly rock legends to behold. Until such perfection is attained I commend all the work I have heard so far. Imagine you guys brought the show to the big city....

Jeff Gay reached his musical zenith on the 1997 release of "Live At The Pallindrome", and has flondered ever since, wallowing in songs with WORDS. If that wasn't bad enough, his choice of subject matter, with oblique references to the Spice Girls, masturb tion and of the Canada-US free trade agreement, is downright oppressive... To the true Jeff Gay fans, we can only wait in anticipation for the release of his infamous "Green Lantern Suite".

Well, I figured I may as well start it off. It's named Tell Me Deeper after one of the new songs and is the best title I could relate to a guestbook. I envision this as becoming a way for people who normally couldn't find a way to interact with the band. But that's probably not the way it will turn out. Take it easy. Or as my first musical mentor (also Gay's and Hatem's), the Great Ken Davidson, used to say, "Keep On Pickin' and Grinnin'."
