The Story
In 1996 Dimitris Kalogerakos and Michael Kehagias, friends and classmates,
had the idea to form a group. They started to meet with some other guys
and played music for fun. Firstly, they were 2 guitarists, a drummer and
a keyboardist. At that time they put issue for a bass player. Dimitris knew Alexandros
from school, he was in other class, so he asked him if he could
join. He agreed and they begun to make rehearsals, Dimitris, Alexandros, Michael.
They wanted a drummer and a surely name. Dimitris Pitsakis and Alexandros
were best friends and partners in their older group. So the group was Dimitris
Pitsakis: Drums, Alexandros Brilakis: Bass, Dimitris Kalogerakos: Guitar and
Michael Kehagias: Guitar/Vocals. For a time John Stratigakis was a singer
in the group but he left for personal reasons. Afterwards they found a
name, "PARAXENES MERES" witch means in Greek "Strange days".
They performed for the first time in 8/3/1996, in the municipal
department of Piraeus, mostly among friends and family. In May the made their first
demo but the production wasn't so good so they don't it represents them.
In June , 14/6/1996, they performed live in a youth festival at Piraiki.
In summer a friend of Michael, Chris, became a member of the group as a
vocalist. But he studies in England so he can't be in Greece all the time.
After the summer the group had some problems and they stopped for a while. Then Michael
left the band for personals reasons and the group had some changes. They
changed their lyrics, from Greek to English, their name to WildFire, and their
style from pop 'n' rock to hard rock. Since then , they continue with passion
doing their hobby.
