"Vi kunne aldri drømt om dette
som drømmene mens de sov har drømt
for oss -"
Ole Sverre Olsen is a Norwegian contemporary poet and writer. He was born in Arendal in 1961. His first book is a collection of poems with the title "Til søvenes arbeidere" (1996). He has now published his first novel, "Den døde mannen". You can find one of his poems in particular in Morten Harket's album "Wild seed". Ole Sverre wrote also with Morten the lyrics of "Jungle of beliefs". Will the collaboration go on in the future? We really hope so! By the way, his first novel is dedicated to Håvard Rem, Morten Harket and Ingrid Elin Dalberg.
Half in love and half in hate
(Words: O.S.Olsen/ Music: M. Harket)
Half in love and half in hate
Someone told me it is late
Late on earth he said, maybe
Late in you
And late in me
Darker than it has to be
Tell me just another lie
Now we're woven under ice
Tell me that there is no other
I am a child
Be my mother
If you lie, babe
If you bother
Since you raise that wall around you
Since I lost you
I have found you strange
And I could swear for sure
Haven't seen that girl before
Half in love and half at war
Hey, you're looking strange
And everything you do
Girl, it seems arranged
Dark words drift away
I have nothing more to say
Soon the moon will rise
And in this stormy night
I have to see your face
See the lines that make you old
Stony silence, touched by gold
Everything's too late
Too late for love, and suddendly
Too late for hate
There's only one thing left to do
I have to face this other you
Jungle of beliefs
(Morten Harket / Ole Sverre Olsen
)
"What a wonderful world, it seems
and our keel is running deep
we`ve got wine from the great market place
we can walk in our sleep, yeah
do you know now the gold is coming cheap
what to loose, and what to keep
you know our hearts could come closer, baby
but our heads got in the way
just like stones in the middle of the stream
let it mean just what it means
do we know our positions
do we know how to keep
and how to let go?
you can drown in that ocean, girl
you can swim in that sea
you can ride, you can dance along the brim
you can plunge so deep within
looking down into a jungle of beliefs
look at you, look at me
what a wonderful world, it seems
and our keel is running deep
we`ve got wine from the great market place
we can walk in our sleep, yeah
do you know now the gold is coming cheap
what to loose, and what to keep"
Thanx to Jakob Sekse!
Tought that it was you (from "Minor Earth Major Sky")
(Morten Harket / Ole Sverre Olsen)
I thought that it was you
The things you saw me do
They were true
Little did I know
You found me in your joy
And there was I, a little boy
My shadows they're not new
My soul's split in two
Lord, I thought that it was you
This Christmas snow that falls
Gives silence to us all
You know my deepest sin
You've seen me deep within
So fill me now like wind
And let the miracle begin
There's a river and you know
Thre's a place we used to go
That's were I throw our ashes now
I must have walked into a cave
Among these things thta you must save
And then I touched the grave
You know my deepest sin
You've seen me deep within
So fill me now like wind
And let the miracle begin
Sometimes I felt so sure
When I opened up your doors
That there'd been no one there before
