As founder of black rock pioneers Living Colour, guitarist Vernon Reid needs no introduction. His photography, however, is less known but no less insightful. As this exhibit shows, the Manhattan man-about-town takes a less glamorous approach to art when it comes to photography. His subjects are generally unadorned, unpretentious and undiluted. Aside from Bed Stuy Gallery, Vernon's work has appeared in several shows around New York City including CB Gallery (adjacent to famed showcase shrine, CBGB's). Musically, Living Colour is unlikely to reunited but Vernon's solo project, Masque, will be releasing a new album this spring. |
