The lyrics of Black Flowers are loosely based on a Donald Justice poem called "Bus Stop." As a song Black Flowers is an enigma because the initial scratch tracks were done to a completely different tune that we called the "Neil Young Song." I hated it, so I scrapped everything but the drum tracks and wrote a completely new song. I recently found that the chords are the same as "Keep on Rockin in the Free World." It's still the Neil Young song I guess. |
