DANNY PEYRONEL sessions

This is the list of the sessions I know Danny Peyronel appears... I've classified them into several categories:

SESSIONS WITH FORMER/CURRENT BANDMATES

Michel Peyronel Danny recorded this album with his brother, after the breakup of the Argentine band Riff. Danny played, sang, co-produced and wrote one track.

OTHER SESSIONS

Mason + Fenn Nick Mason still is Pink Floyd drummer, and Rick Fenn once was (and he still is) guitarist in 10CC. They joined for this one-off project, and Danny, an old friend of Rick, composed and sang a song in it, called "Israel" (he also co-wrote "Lie for a lie", sung by David Gilmour). With other guest musicians: Mel Collins (sax), Maggie Reilly (vocals), David Gilmour (from Pink Floyd, vocals), and Craig Pruess (keyboards). A very nice album, in my 'umble opinion.

COLLECTIVE ALBUMS

VV.AA.

As the name states, this double album is a tribute to the band Cheap Trick. It contains 25 songs, and Danny plays in two songs along with his friend Richie Ranno. These are the songs and lineups:

In "On top of the world" (originally in the Cheap Trick album from 1979, "Heaven tonight"):

Frank Dimino (vocals) (from Angel)
Richie Ranno (guitar)
Danny Peyronel (keyboards)
Hal B. Setzer (bass) (from Silent Witness)
Lance Hyland Stark (drums) (from Silent Witness)
In "She's tight" (originally in the Cheap Trick album from 1982, "One on one"):
Rocco Fury (vocals) (from American Angel)
Eddie Ojeda (guitar) (from Twisted Sister)
Richie Ranno (guitar)
Danny Peyronel (keyboards)
Hal B. Setzer (bass) (from Silent Witness)
Lance Hyland Stark (drums) (from Silent Witness)
Both are great versions, they are clearly among the best of the album.

Other musicians and bands involved in this tribute are: Danny Vaughn (vocals, ex-Tyketto), Silent Witness, Arcara, Glen Burtnik (ex-Styx), Enuff Z Nuff, Gilby Clarke (ex-Guns n' Roses), Danny Stanton, and there is an unreleased song by Robin Zander (Cheap Trick singer), called 'I can't go on'.

Some of my favourite tracks in this tribute, apart from the songs with Danny are (just my 'umble opinion): 'Stiff competition' (by Silent Witness), 'Hello there / Clock strikes ten' (by Danny Vaughn), 'If you want my love' (by Sharon Middendorf, from the band Motorbaby), 'I want you to want me' (by Glen Burtnick; a strange rendition, but I finally love it), 'Voices' (by Passion Risk), ...

CREDITS AS COMPOSER

Apart from the songs he contributed when he was in the bands UFO, Banzai, Tarzen, etc., Danny has written other songs for other artists. I mention here the credits for albums where he wrote some songs, and doesn't appear as a musician.

Meat Loaf This album contains the title song, "Midnight at the lost and found", co-written by Danny with Meat Loaf himself (Marvin Lee Aday is his real name), bassist Steve Buslowe, and P. Christie.

Danny doesn't play in this album, but we can find powerful performers, like the great Rick Derringer (guitar), Steve Buslowe (bass), Max Weinberg (drums, from E. Street Band), and guesting Gary Rossington and Dale Krantz (from Rossington Collins Band, now in the revamped Lynyrd Skynyrd) on one song.

Sade

This sweet-voice vocalist recorded in her multi-platinum second album a song co-written by Danny, "Fear", although he's credited under 'special thanks'!!

CREDITS AS PRODUCER

Extraballe This French band was formed by Michel Peyronel and Murray Ward (ex-The Blue Max, with Danny), along with vocalist John Ickx. Danny and Robin Millar (both Murray companions in The Blue Max) produced their first EP.
Virus
Danny has also produced, with his brother Michel, the first major hit album for Argentine band Virus, entitled Agujero interior
King Kong
Danny also produced the debut album by Spanish band King Kong.
