Well Congratulations to Greg K and his wife Jane on the birth of their first child, a boy, born on May 1, 1999. Both the mother and baby are well, Greg is doing alright, considering the circumstances.
Tonight we play the first show in this leg of the tour in Phoenix. The Living End are still with us but we are also joined by our friends The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. This should be a great tour. Both the Bosstones and the Living End put on great shows. Even better yet, though they are both sort of punk, they are not really punk bands. They both have the energy of a punk band but add so much more to the mix musically. I get a boner just thinking about it! And I cant wait to get back up on stage myself.
The time off was great and we all got to spend lots of time with our friends and family, though you can never really get enough of that, depending on which family members you are referring to. A couple of days ago I got to go snowmobiling and snowboarding with Paul Cobb who produced our Americana video. He shot footage of me goofing off for possible use on another video in the future. I've never been snowmobiling before and I had a blast racing up and down the mountains, going off jumps and actually getting airborne. The snow was pretty sticky so snowboarding was a little slow. In order to get more speed at the beginning of one run, one of the guys towed me up over the top of a hill behind one of the snowmobiles. By the time the hill got steep enough I was flying down it on one of the best runs I had all year.
Well, I've got to catch my plane now.
Later,
Noodles.
