This book was written in 1990 by a man who guided and outfitted fishing parties for 46 years on the world famous Miramichi River in New Brunswick, Canada. At one time he had six camps operating with as many as 38 guides and canoes. The Atlantic Salmon fishing vacation featured a 55 mile 7 day canoe trip.
This book would be of particular interest to sports fishermen as it contains historical information about the early days of Atlantic Salmon fishing on the Miramichi as well as the author's own personal experiences.
In the author's own words: "This book is not a story. It doesn't have a plot. It doesn't have good guys and bad guys . . . . It is about early guiding and outfitting fishing and hunting parties in New Brunswick (Canada) . . . . It is about . . . the way it used to be . . . with a few stories added."
This tape of poems put to music comes with a booklet of poems written by Clayton S. Stewart, author of Recollections. Such songs as "The Guides", "The Salmon", and "Song of the Miramichi", are the result of personal experiences on the mighty Miramichi River in New Brunswick, Canada. Other songs such as "What it Means", "Life", and "Spring", emphasize his great love of Nature. A bonus booklet on the Atlantic Salmon is also included.
