Greg Darling, Lead Guitar/V-Guitar/Classical Guitar/Vocals For Music Lessons in the Tracy area:Guitar Music to My Ears I have a BA in guitar performance from San Jose State University. I've studied with various Segovia students and more recently with Larry Ferrera from the Conservatory of Music in San Francisco. For Jazz, I studied with Warren Nunes. I'm also playing in a rock/pop band called The Gary Tittle Band. When I first read some of Jamie’s articles, I was greatly impressed by the thorough and in-depth explanations given on various common guitar player’s problems. I have a BA in Music and in Psychology. This I tell you because until I had read “The Principles of Correct Practice For Guitar” and “The Deeper I Go the Deeper It Gets” books by Jamie Andreas, I’ve never heard someone put Philosophy, Psychology, Physiology, and Music together to explain what goes on when a guitar player plays. Her holistic approach to solving problems guitar players have is very unique. The insight gained from these books and the many essays found at the website and in the weekly newsletter goes a long way toward shedding light on the correct way to go about learning and playing the guitar. I use these insights to help myself and to put my students on the clear path to playing well. When not playing his custom acoustic guitar, Greg is the lead guitarist for The Gary Tittle Band. Greg has been digging into the architecture of his VG88 V-Guitar system to pull out some of the most outrageous sounds we have ever heard. He plays a Roland/Fender Stratocaster directly through the board on most recordings, but to really hear him shine you will have to get a good seat at one of the upcoming shows where you'll be treated to some outstanding guitar work.
