Court TV to Cover Sentencing Hearing of Suge Knight 02:14 p.m. Feb 27, 1997 EST NEW YORK--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--Feb. 27, 1997-- Death Row Records Executive Could Face Nine Years in Prison Courtroom Television Network (Court TV) will cover the sentencing hearing of record executive Marion Suge Knight from Los Angeles on Friday, February 28. Live coverage of the hearing will be shown during breaks from Court TV's regular daytime programming, with highlights airing on Court TV's Prime Time Justice at 8:00pm (ET/PT). Rap music mogul Marion Suge Knight faces up to nine years in prison for violating his probation on September 7, 1996 when he was involved in a brawl at the Las Vegas MGM Grand Hotel. Later that evening, Death Row Records recording artist Tupac Shakur was fatally wounded and Knight was grazed on the head during a drive-by shooting. Knight has been in custody without bail since his probation was revoked in November 1996. The defense is expected to argue that this decision be overturned, alleging that a Las Vegas police detective perjured himself during the hearing. Knight has been on probation since assaulting two aspiring rappers at a recording studio in 1992.
