DAVID USHER

David Usher was born in Oxford, England, on April 24, 1966. David's father is Jewish. His mother is Thai, and the band has such a huge fan base in Thailand, that they even recorded a version of "Leave it Alone" in Thai for radio play. David also has a sister, Ann, and a brother, Tony. David attended KCVI High School in Kingston, Ontario, as well as Queen's University, and graduated from Simon Fraser University with a degree in Political Science.

For the band Moist, David does vocals and plays guitar. Moist wasn't his first band, though. Previously, he was part of a rap band called True Hype Crue, also a few unsuccessful bands with Kevin, and other people. When they realized they were going nowhere, David and Kevin moved out to Vancouver and auditioned people until Kevin had a party where they met up with Jeff and Mark. Dave's friend Keith Maryanovich also was offered the role as manager, which he accepted.

David is the only band member who is married. He was wed on May 8th, 1997 to his longtime girlfriend Sabrina. Congrats Dave!

MARK MAKOWY

Mark Andrew Makowy (now spelled Makoway to clear up mispronounciations) was born September 12, sometime this century (year uncertain). Mark's mother is an art/english teacher in the Metro Toronto area. He also has a sister. He attended Queens University and graduated with a degree In Film Studies. He used to work for small Multi-Cultural Magazine in Vancouver.

He plays guitar and has approximately 12 years experience. Before Moist, Mark and Jeff played in 2 other failed Vancouver bands (one being the original Moist). They attended a party held by Kevin, and met up with Dave and Kevin, and formed the initial formation of the current Moist (with the exception of Paul, who joined later). As well, a friend of Mark's also mentioned Paul's name when they were looking for a drummer after Jaime Kaufmann (their previous drummer) left.

KEVIN YOUNG

Kevin Thompson Young was born September 18th, 1966. Kevin's parents are very supportive of him and often come to see him in concert. He also has a brother. Kevin studied music at both Simon Frasier and Queens University. He plays piano, and a host of other instruments incluiding organ and tuba. He also used to teach piano.

Before Moist, Kevin and David played in a "twisted folk" duo, which was said to have influenced the sound of Moist. He also played in a band with David, Russ Allert and Brian Rice. Kevin and David moved out to Vancouver together, and Kevin hosted the party in which Mark and Jeff attended, and where the current line up (with the exception of Paul) was found.

Kevin is also something of a writer; he is responsible for the Moist newsletters that are sent out every once in awhile.

JEFF PEARCE

Jeffrey Howard Pearce was born April 25th, 1967. He has a degree in Film Studies, Queens University. He has about 13 years experience playing bass, which is, of course, what he does for Moist, in addition to background vocals.

Before Moist, Jeff had a job at a bank at one point. He also played with Mark in 2 other failed Vancouver bands (one being the original Moist). He met up with Kevin and Dave at a party held by Kevin.

Jeff wrote the song "Picture Elvis" in the Silver album, about his girlfriend from grade 11. Other interests include computers, and he is responsible for the Moist e-mail address.

PAUL WILCOX

Paul Matthew Wilcox was born February 13, 1970. He has 2 sisters, Jane and Leigh. He is the only member of Moist originally from Vancouver.

Before Moist, Paul did some acting (he was in a film called "The Graveller," where he played a gravel collector), and some stand up comedy. He also worked as a cook at Sophie's Cafe. He has about 18 years experience playing the drums.

Paul was the last band member to join Moist. He recommended by a friend of Mark's and became the Moist drummer, finalizing the lineup.
