The Vladimir Zhirinovsky Fan Club's first recording, "Transmissions from the Space Station Mir," is now available for your audio consumption. The album, featuring fifteen tracks (and who knows, maybe a hidden track? Hmmmmmm?) on the compact disc format, can be purchased one of three ways. If you can track down a VZFC member in person, you can purchase it from him for the low price of $10. If you can't track down a VZFC member, you can send a check or money order for $13 to Russ Chibe, 8692 Havens Dr., Darien, IL 60561, and he will Priority Mail the album to you (so be sure to include your address). And finally, if you don't want to spend the extra $3 for shipping and live in the Downers Grove area, you can send $10 to Russ at the above address and he'll drop the album off at your house as soon as he comes home for a weekend. If any of the above confuses you (as it is rather confusing), feel free to e-mail Russ at russ.chibe@valpo.edu with any questions you may have. Hope to hear from you soon!
Everyone seems to want to know everything the can about the soon-to-be-famous trio from Downers Grove, Swizzle Tree.... wait, no... the Vladimir Zhirinovsky Fan Club! Yes, that's the ticket! Anyway, you can find out all sorts of interesting tidbits by reading the Vlad Lists, which includes such lists as song's the band has covered and things they've claimed to "hate" when singing "I hate the Macarena." Just something to keep you busy until the album comes out...
The VZFC is currently recording their debut album, which should be available for purchase when everyone who will be away at school returns to the Downers Grove metropolitan area this Thanksgiving. Although Steve left for China earlier this summer, Russ and Evan have continued to put the finishing touches on the album, which is titled "Transmissions from the Space Station Mir." The track listings for the album (produced by Hypersonic bandmate Garrett Parker and the VZFC) has been determined and will be as follows:
1. Nobody wants to buy dead batteries 2. Remains of a neolithic civilization 3. Untitled cakewalk 4. Faux pearls 5. V 6. The way the story goes 7. Luciferian opium 8. You're no Frank Zappa 9. When you take that bus, you get there 10. (Radio killed the) video star 11. Club Med sucks 12. Nobody #2 (nobody loves me) 13. Pager Polka 14. Meningitis 15. I was on the grassy knoll
For a sneak peak at the artwork, you can see what the CD itself will look like here and check out the back cover art here. You'll also be able to listen to our completed "Luciferian Opium" by the end of the week (hopefully). Look for the album to be out by mid-October (we'll mail a copy to you if you're impatient!), and keep an ear out for a hidden track or two. In the meantime, we appreciate any feedback! (You can reach Evan at DrumMan@aol.com or Russ at RussVZFC@juno.com).
