Welcome to Raykwon's Skatepark, the place where your mind can grind.

The first topic I will discuss is a little something I like to call "Aggrovision". I have discovered this phenomenon as a rookie aggressive skater and it never fails to amaze me. "Aggrovision" can be defined as a type of mindset that presents itself when one reaches the a certain level of interest in aggressive skating. This may be confusing, so let me explain. When you first start aggressive skating and learn the concepts of grinds, jumps, and grabs, the next logical step is to look for places to try them out and improve one's skill. If enough interest is taken in the sport itself, the mindset is attained and is difficult to shake, consciously or unconsciously. The world takes a new shape, a new form. Every building, street, and sidewalk, every town, city, and parking lot slowly morphs into the contents of a giant skatepark. Let's say you're driving down a street in the city. A normal person would see things as they are - rails, benches, curbs, ramps, and stairs. On the other hand, a person who has attained "aggrovision" does not see the objects as they appear. Instead they are evaluated in terms of aggressive skating. "Can I jump those stairs?" and "Can I grind those rails?" are the questions that are asked. After a while the good places to skate can be separated from the bad without so much as a glance at the surrounding area. There is a saying that someone is wearing "beer goggles" when they are drunk. An ugly person can look quite attractive because of the alcohol. The senses are warped. A person who sees life through green tinted glasses thinks in terms of money. The senses are corrupted. A person who looks at life through "aggrovision" sees the world as one big skatepark. The senses are heightened. This is one observation I have made since I started skating. "Aggrovision" has been successfully achieved.

skaters have been to my skatepark since 9/2/98!!!
