It all started about 1995. I got pissed one day and decided to go to the local pawn shop and purchase a guitar. They had one in the window that didn't look too beat up for about $129. It was a Stratocaster copy by Regal. I talked them down to $100 since the thing had a big chunk of finish broken off of it. I took it home and put new strings on it. Then I had to tune it by ear because I had no tuner. Luckily, I had gained a good ear from previous musical experiences. I had no idea what I was doing, so I would flip through guitar magazines every chance I could get . I then read about Dropped D tuning and then just forget it. I was a madman.
Soon after that came X-mas, and my first great present from my fiancé. That would be the BOSS ME-X multi-effects unit. This thing is great. You can plug up to three different external pedals to it to work in conjuntion with up to 5 other effects at a time with 25 seperate user programmable patches. It has External Control Out, EQ, Delay, Short Delay, Chorus/Flanger/Pitch Shifter, Reverb, Master Level, and Noise Suppression.
In late 1996 I bought my first real guitar. And that would be my very unique Gibson SG Special. What's so unique about an ebony SG Special you ask? Well first off, the pickups are really hot, and the fretboard is also ebony. I don't know how or why, but it's true. This thing rocks so hard it isn't even funny. I'm kind of glad that it's not as popular an instrument as the Les Paul's and Fender gutiars.
Things didn't change very much until I got my big bad boy. Oh yeah, that would be the Marshall TSL100. Now this baby has features. It would be totally too long-winded of me to go through all of them. You're much better off going to Harmony Central and checking out reviews there. Mine is in there somewhere, see if you can find it.
That's just a little story on how and when I became obsessed with guitars. So now you know!
