DOWNFALL OF HUMANITY

the earth is so glorious
yet Jack Daniels is my only friend
the earth is a warzone
oh how I wish it would all end

the earth is so beautiful
or at least it was yesterday
the earth is under siege
all day, every day

the earth was so wonderful
how I longed to be part of it
the earth is now under attack
and I do not think I would fit

the earth was so peaceful
but now it is set aflame
the earth is on fire
with everyone taking the blame

the earth was so luminous
with such a magnificent glow
the earth is now in shambles
still feeling repercussions from that blow

the blow that shook the world
like an out of control quake
destroying the ozone layer
and leaving us to bake

the sun, oh the sun
constantly pours on the heat
burning our burnt skin
scorching our scorched feet

and if the sun wasn't enough
there are many problems more
all brought on by fellow man
kicking humanity right out the door

we have little water
we are running out of food
there have been deaths a plenty
I'd say we're basically screwed

how'd we bring this upon ourselves?
how'd we fuck up the earth this much?
we constantly strived to better ourselves
trying to perfect the perfect touch

constantly building better weapons
finding better ways to kill
making the perfect soldier
with whose head they could fill

with killing tactics, combat moves
and vast information galore
leaving no room for human emotion
which they say there is no need for

these men were made for killing
and killing's what they do best
they have killed many already
and soon they will kill the rest

will it be a mercy kill?
for many don't want to live anymore
not with all of the problems
and especially not with the war

the war that started years ago
can anyone still remember why?
the cause has been lost among the bloodshed
that is why I am ready to die

so I sit here with Jack Daniels
and I wait for death
the earth is dying slowly, too
breathing it's final breath

the earth was so peaceful
until we destroyed it
with our bombs and tanks and guns
and our "perfect" working shit

there is only one road to Heaven
and many roads to Hell
we failed to pick the road less traveled
and with that, humanity fell
and with that, humanity fell.
