LIFE
The alarm awakes you from your slumber
Time to get up and face the day.
Get dressed, eat fast; no time for rest,
You have to get to work today.
In the car you go over what to say
Because this meeting just could be
The lucky bread you're looking for,
To get that office overlooking the sea.
You drive up to the meeting hall
Feeling as confident as you can
But your stomach's so nervous,
Kind of like eggs frying in a pan.
You go into the meeting room
And there you see your boss.
"No need to present your project,
For I’ve picked another man, Mr. Hoss."
You storm out of there with a vengeance
Like a predator hunting prey.
You don't want to lose your temper,
So you wander down to the bay.
You sit down and think over your life.
What is your purpose on this earth?
You know you've been here a while
Since the day of your birth.
When will you get the raise at work?
Will you ever catch a break in your life?
Do you not know of anything
To put an end to your strife?
You realize you will get a break,
Somehow, someday...
Every one gets a break in life,
Every one...in some little way.
