NO SECOND CHANCES

springtime breeze blowin on the grass
dew drops starting to dissipate
fall to the ground
or get sucked back to the clouds
to start over again
wish life for us was like that
a constant cycle
no end to it all
just starts over again
like a video game
get a couple of chances
not just one
one
such a bleak outlook
one life to live
and then you die
never to come back again
never to smell the flowers again
never to kiss a loved one again
never to swim in the water again
never to lose again
never
because the biggest loss of all
is the loss of a life
you will never lose more than that
no second chances
no yesterdays
just tomorrow
always ahead
never back
to dwell on the past
is worse than dying itself
just look to tomorrow
and the chances you have are infinite
infinite
never ending
only you choose which chances to take
and which to leave behind
never to look at again
but you will
everyone does
but they shouldn't
but they do
don't let a day go by
without taking a chance
at least take one
if not more
because that day could be your last
then you die
never to come back
never to smell the flowers
never to kiss a loved one
never to swim in the water
never to watch the grass
blow in the spring breeze
with the dew drops
and their second chances
that we don't have
