A mix of hard hip hop vocals and hardcore music. These guys rip and
their music will pump you up. If you like the Deftones, I recommend these guys.
Not only are they hardcore about Jesus, but they're hardcore
period. They're one of my favorites. Find out why.
I'm borrowing their album, "Upbeats and Beatdowns", from someone at church. These guys rip.
They're fast and fun. My favorite song of theirs would have to be "Combat Chuck". Seriously,
if you don't know who these guys are yet, GET TO KNOW WHO THEY ARE. They don't care if your punk,
ska or hardcore...but if ska is your thing, once
you've listened to these guys, you're gonna want to invite them into your home.
Dogwood
Music Style: Punk
I first heard these guys on the internet. I heard a clip of their
song, "Label Me", off the Rescue Records webpage. It reminded me
a lot of Lagwagon, so I loved it. I played it over and over again,
waiting for their album, "Good Ol' Daze" (1996) to come out in
stores so I could hear more. It wasn't until about a month later
that it finally came out. I got the last CD in the store. These guys
are rad. Some of their stuff reminds me a little of NOFX, some the
Offspring, some Lagwagon, and some Descendants. But that's just my OPINION.
Watch out for these guys.
OK...OK...yeah...I like rap too. Heck, I like all kinds of music.
I consider rap to be underground also. And when it comes to hip-hop,
the Gospel Gangstas can compete with the secular scene. Oddly
enough, I've seen them on MTV before. Check these guys out.
Be sure to click on "G" when you get to the Hip Hop Zone page,
then click on the Gospel Gangstas. You'll get to their page.
Ghoti Hook
Music Style: Punk
Two words to describe them-Fast & Fun. These guys are good. The
first time I heard them was on the radio. I think they're one
of the few Christian punk groups that caught my ear in listening for the
first time. Ghoti Hook will reel you in ( I know, corny...but hey?...) If you
don't believe me, check out their page.
Former member of Circle Of Dust, Klank went independent and released "Still Suffering".
Lyrically, Klank gets you thinking about how dark life can be, but recognizing the presence of God in the
tough times. Musically, Klank is very impressive...hard guitars and nice synthesized
music. Klank rips.
