They're here. They're queer. They're cops!

Gay Cops

DASjr's embarrassing motion picture debut!

PLOT: A parody of the '90's TV reality show "Cops", this "episode" follows a night in the life of two overly-homosexual law enforcers. One's a sassy sissy (Jeff Spencer); the other, a redneck a la "Deliverance" (Lou Binetti Jr.). Together, they are "out" to bust a hapless drug pusher (David Alan Scott Jr.).
Occassionally, the show takes a commercial break for some Public Service Announcements that are anything but serious (much in the style of segments on TV's "Late Night with Conan O'Brien").
"Gay Cops" goes back-and-forth from smart to silly, but through it all, these crime-solving stereotypes will always get their man!

SEQUENCE OF SEGMENTS:
* PSA 1- "People who drink my beer get hurt!"
* INTRO- A crook is chased by two cops in drag.
* PSA 2- "If your man won't wear a condom, call me! I'll wear one!"
* PART 1- Two cops see a drug deal go down.
* PSA 3- "NO SMOKING signs are there to pi$$ you off. :-)"
* PART 2- The cops search the house and find the pusher.
* PSA 4- "Don't drink and drive in your own vehicle. Use a friend's!"
* PART 3- After a lover's quarrel, the cops take the pusher to jail.

HISTORY:

This comedy was originally to be called "The 3 Lusts of DASJr," a comedy about the three things that influence society the most--sex, drugs, and music. A series of phony commercials and shows were written to examine the extremes to which people go to appease these three lusts.
Planned segments for that film were a show called "Gay Cops"; an ad for a book called "Men are from Mars, Women Suck"; and an ad to see if a Timex watch could withstand the force of two horny lesbians.
Unfortunately, certain segments could not be filmed in time, so more emphasis was given on the "Gay Cops" segment.
The film was made for a college class, "TV Analysis," in which it got a perfect "A". The film is approximately twenty minutes long.
Nowadays, I prefer not to show "Gay Cops" to anyone because A)it can be considered offensive by certain homosexuals, B)I have a lowered opinion of certain co-stars and the way they've treated me during and/or since then, and C)my more later works (i.e. "Retro Man") are light years better in overall quality.

REVIEWS:

"I liked the music, when the cops break into the house, and it does that Gangstas Paradise song. I loved that, and at end, when it does I Will Always Love You. I love those parts. It was kind of weak when Jeff Spencer was playing the guitar and singing, because he wasnt really singing, and he wasnt really playing the guitar. I always find those parts in movies weak. They lack content. Gay Cops was a good first movie. It made people laugh. It was a good way to start Davids movie-making career." -Adam Lindquist, 1-12-1999

"It's damn funny! The actors are very imaginative, and even though all gay people are NOT like that, they do a good job of living up to the stereotype. And when the scenes start to slow down, you're suprised by a PSA, a down-to-earth common sense kind of thing, something to get your head off of the drug bust of "a very nasty boy". And the best thing about the PSA's is that they hold some sense. You can apply them to everyday life. It's better than having some star from "E.R." telling me that there is help out there for me. (If you [are] really that depressed, what the hell are you doing watching "E.R."??? You should be in bed curling up and moaning that no one cares anymore.) The PSA's deal with everyday occurences. It encourages safe sex, and not drinking and driving. I can't wait for another movie to come out of the brilliant director's/writer's mind." -Emer Smith, 2-27-1998
