PLOT: What happens when you bring together a Romance Novelist, a Dark Poet-Philosopher, an English Professor, a Writer of Children's books and a Porn Actor/Writer to write a Murder Mystery? Sarcasm, Wit, Ego and...Murder. A dinner theater comedy.
HISTORY: With "Last Dance of Dr. Disco" done, production began for the next Market Street Irregulars show, a brand new play written by my "Marriage Can Be Murder" co-star Jeff Smith. Jeff, also directing the play, selected me to play Bob, an adult film star hired to help write a murder mystery.
The show went so well that a bonus seventh show was added to the already six-show run. Throughout the run, there were three different versions of the cast: The original cast, with Jim Cendoma as Hank; the same cast, but with Jeff as Peachy (because Jim Duffy had to attend a teachers' conference); and the same cast, but with Jeff replacing Jim Cendoma (who dropped out of the show when his work schedule limited his pre-show rehearsal attendance).
A production company produced a radio ad for the show. Most performances were sold-out shows. The first and last cast lineups were videotaped, and I compiled a 2-DVD set containing both versions. This show marked the official last MSI play for Lynne and Lindsay Hodges, who moved to Wales within two weeks of the final performance.
