PEEK INSIDE 3T'S SUITCASES

Touring can be tough, but not if you take your stuff! 3T tells BOP all about getting ready to go abroad - Plus the few fave things they can't live without.

Being far away from home can be exciting, especially when your destination is Europe. So you can bet Taj, Taryll and TJ Jackson of 3T are plenty thrilled about their first major European tour (in support of their 1995 Brotherhood CD), which recently kicked off in Lyons, France. There was only one hard part-getting ready for it!

"There are some artists that just go up there and perform, but we want to make our show more professional," say TJ. The three brothers put in well over a hundred hours of rehearsal time to prepare for their tiring two-month tour, but TJ feels the hard work will definitely pay off, especially for all those lucky fans who get the chance to see them play. "This tour is very important to us. It's basically for our fans," the adorable TJ says.

While rehearsing was hard work, there was one tougher task the guys had to tackle before heading overseas-packing! Since their dad, Tito Jackson, knows firsthand the difficulties of touring from his performing days with the Jackson 5, these guys know to bring along some goodies that make home feel not so far away. "I think we all get homesick," Taryll admits.

So what makes the homesick blues go away for these three? For TJ, traveling doesn't mean an excuse to stop learning, so reading is a priority. "Instruments and books are very important to us," TJ says. "We like to read a lot and educate ourselves, but we also like to practice our instruments."

Don't worry, it's not all work and no play for these Los Angeles, California-based babes. 'We bring plenty of stuff, like video games and board games, to keep ourselves entertained," Taj confesses. Taj just may get a little too serious about living our of a suitcase, though. "I try to pack my whole house in my luggage, pretty much," Taj laughs.

So, did the guys include room in their bags for their signature pajama pants? Well, maybe. They're definitely still attached to these wash-and go sleepwear wonders. "What's so good about them is you can put them on and go,": Taryll explains.

However, European audiences just may be in for a brand-new fashion statement from 3T-and it all depends on the weather. "We're going to have to bend some rules and go into some other clothes or add on something because it gets cold over there in Europe," Taj groans. "And PJ's are not too warm!"
