Tales Of A Mexican Painter

The Sydney 1966 soundboard

An article in the latest issue of the fanzine Isis (November issue 1999) tells the story about a great new discovery. The discovery of a complete soundboard tape from Sydney Stadium, Sydney, Australia, April 13th 1966. Now the recording has started to circulate among traders. According to a post to the newsgroup rec.music.dylan, the show is great:

"...Sydney '66...after a quick listen....
Nice soundboard recording of a GREAT show!!  Dylan's voice is right up front (maybe a bit too much up front at times). You can hear lots of chatter between Dylan and band members in between songs. Dylan is quite talkative during this show.  A classic Dylan ramble before JLTTB's. I won't spoil it for all those involved in the tree but it ends with an audience member yelling out "Hard Rain!!" and our hero replying with "Isn't that right....Hard Rain.... Hard Rain...." which leads into JLTTB. All and all a very nice listen!!
Make sure you have your seatbelt fastened for one of the all time great versions of LSPBH..."
