Straightedge Princess
"I'm a person just like you/ But I've got better things to do/ Than sit around and fuck my head/ hang out with the living dead/snort white shit up my nose/ pass out at the shows/ I don't even think about speed/ that's something I just don't need/ I've got the straightedge"
-Ian MacKaye of Minor Threat
A lot of people around here have a lot of preconcieved assumptions about me and the things that I do in my spare time. On the contrary, I've been straightedge for three years, which means no drugs, drinking, or anything to fuck up my body in this time. My friends, on the other hand are an opposite story. I would hate to be like them, it's all they ever seem to find solace in talking about.
But enough preaching, there are other things to my life also. I write music, punk and folk, I write poetry, and I go to a skool in Jackson, Michigan that smells like cow stink. I hope there aren't any long term affects on people who are over-exposed to this smell , or we're all going to come back to our high skool reunions with extra arms or something. But these things happen all the time. I'm sure Northwest had a perfectly logical reason for building a high skool in the middle of nowhere surrounded by farms. There isn't much more to say about my skool except that it's so incredibly hard to make friends. It's a very small skool, so everyone has their tight little cliques that are anti-anyone else. But it's fine, I'm graduating next year anyway. I was going to go to prom even this year, I bought a dress and everything, but no one around here wants anything to do with a chica like me because I am SO not into the drugs. Ugh. And I'm too shy to say anything to anyone about it. I'm so geeky.
