Oz-Youth Photo ArtBank was founded in 2001 by a lady named Patricia
Banks. A secondary teacher for quite some years, she decided to open up this
art gallery after seeing the talents of young Australian artist. Her concern
was that young artists had no ambition to continue on after there secondary
and tertiary education. Her goal was to motivate young artist to continue on
with their work. She established Oz-Youth Photo Artbank in the suburb of Flowerdale
in Melbourne, Victoria. With a small number of staff, her gallery has been very
successful despite the remote location. With the introduction of this website,
its success will increase and so will the awareness of young Australian art.
