Blindsided was formed in late 1991 to write and
perform the most driving melodic hard rock Detroit has produced in quite some time. Blindsided
has performed some memorable gigs usually headlining at many of
Detroits best rock clubs. Blindsided has always taken the approach that great
straight-ahead rock can never really go out of style. The songs are constructed with
strong choruses, memorable riffs, and R & B attitude. The "Blindsided sound"
is a fierce combination of guitar army, anthemic vocals, and an unstoppable rhythm
section.
Blindsided is:
Augie (the Dogg) Haase drums
Hawk vocals
Dave Accomando guitars, vocals
Michael Szejbach bass
In 1997, Blindsided independently released How Uncalled For. The
sound on this first studio effort was raw and powerful, with guitarist Dave Accomando on
vocals.
In 1998, the Red Wings 1999 CD ROM is released, featuring A.P.I.
and The Skeleton from "How Uncalled For." Throughout 1998 and early 1999,
the quartet paid musical dues and worked quickly to lay down basic tracks for their second
demo CD, Alcohol and Gasoline. This second disc is the first to feature
Hawk on vocals and the band is excited about the future.
The four members of the band have day jobs. Being proper Motor City bred, these
"careers" involve unions, steel, and the hard work that drives Detroits
pulse. Blindsideds music reflects this lifestyle and bears the stamp of the rock and
blues greats.
