We've heard from Patt recently in the Inbox here at the XYZ News Clearing House. Puzzle Gut (must be a four-piece now, by the above pic) is playing at the Viper Room in West Hollywood Monday, Aug. 27.

things are peachy... a new band called puzzle gut, album out on interscope, 2 years spent on the road, from dives to stadiums and festivals, and now back home in hollywood writing and preparing some new material for yet another record. health is great and so are spirits.. what else can one want... and yes of course, fresh powder for my snowboard."

Band lineup for this release, as listed in the notes: Lance Bulen Vocals, guitar; Joe Shapiro, drums; Pat Fontaine, bass. Lance used to be in Baton Rouge playing guitar. (Interesting... two of the bands on my fan pages have links to Baton Rouge.... I wonder what a "six degrees from XYZ" game would be like.)
When I talked with him sometime in 2000, he wasn't so sure that the material the band was working on would ever see commerical release because of the fickle way of the music business, but they were still writing and recording last I heard. As always, we'll keep you posted with news.
