[Tour photos, Dec. 7, 1992][Tour photos, Nov 1991] [Tour stories from fans] [Space Age Playboys] What else can I say but WHAT A BAND. Everything about them is great: their powerful music (whether you listen to the bass/drum tracks or the guitar tracks, you'll love the heavy yet melodic yet punk-out-rock and roll) their powerful lyrics (metaphors, imagery, it's fkin poetry, man) or their straight-ahead, no apologies here, mister, opinions. Drugs, God... in my HO is a masterpiece. Last Decade and Salutations aren't far behind that, either. Chill Pill....well, nothing can live up to Drugs, God but the WS boys sure will surprise you. Who'd expected a harmonica in their music?! Made Ya Look! No doubt... not to mention the use of a dijderidu (an Australian Aborigine wind instrument). I received the following in my inbox today, though the event is not listed on ticketmaster.com, on Pollstar.com, and I can't find an up-to-date site for the venue, so investigate before you go. It does appear to be the correct phone number for the venue, however. Warrior Soul will be playing at THE VILLAGE PUB in Port Jefferson NY 11777 on November 30th. Tickets available through ticketmaster.com or the Village Pub box office, 631 331 4800. If anyone would take photos and send them to me, I'd be eternally grateful! :) Warrior Soul to release a new album in 2001?! Has hell frozen over?! Reports are that the original lineup of Warrior Soul was working on a new album in 2000 for release in 2001. I'm disgusted with myself for not updating this page and researching this development in 2000....more info as it arrives. Until that day arrives, we'll have to be patient (like we haven't been for the past, what... 9 years or so? That's the last time I saw them live anyway.) and crank up Drugs God or Classics, released last year on Dream Catcher in the UK and available imported.
Seems pretty appropriate that we have a new Warrior Soul record coming out now that we have another Bush "elected" to office, doesn't it?! I'm sorry that's what it took to get the band back together! ;) I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall if these guys were together watching the election returns come in.
Check out Warrior Soul's official site at www.warriorsoul.com It's kind of sparse, but if you have the right plug-in, you apparently can listen to the new album. I don't have the right plug-in, and Netscape didn't have any to recommend. No idea how I make that work. You can, however, sign up for their mailing list here and e-mail John. I'll keep my fingers crossed for a response.
