Subject: Hummingbird In The House The Hummingbird population has really increased lately here in North East Texas. The Hummingbird increase may be because there is an increase in flowers brought on by the heavy rain we have been having every day for what seems like a month. I don't know about the flowers but the mold and mildew is growing good. Anyway, a few days ago when I walked back inside the house, I noticed that a Hummingbird had followed me inside. At first I thought it was cute having a hummingbird in the house. Then the hummingbird landed on my left hand. Guess it thought I was a giant flower. I was admiring the bird and looking closely at it. I noticed that it stuck out its tongue or whatever that thing is like it was going to sample the nectar on my hand. I wanted to get a closer look so I reached with my right hand, picked up my glasses and put them on. Before I knew what had happened, my right hand hit my left hand with such a force that I thought I broken both my hands. Well, I didn't break my hands, but I did kill the biggest Mosquito I have ever seen. JMG June 22, 2004 (C)
