ONE NIGHT

Chapter 1
The First Night

The club was dark. The lights were flashing and the music was pounding. Lance was sitting in a booth that gave him a good view of the dance floor and all the people on it. There were four empty glasses in front of him— a waiter had already cleared three away. His eyes scanned the floor. No one caught his eye. He smirked. Here he was, alone, not even supposed to be here and there were no women he wanted to get friendly with. It was the story of his life.

His eyes saw a girl approach his table and slide into the booth across from him.

"Hi," the girl said smiling.

"Hi," Lance said as he raised an eyebrow.

"I just want you to know that I don't normally do this, but…" her head turned and Lance followed her gaze to two women in their early twenties who were standing at the bar staring and giggling behind their hands.

"Let me guess," Lance said. "Those are your friends and they dared you to come talk to the geek in the booth getting drunk by himself."

The girl blushed. "No, actually they dared me to come talk to the incredibly hot guy who should be out there dancing. I'm so not the girl who does this. Normally I'm really calm and sensible." The girl busted out laughing. "You can probably tell I've been drinking."

Lance smiled. "Well, that's not a crime, is it?" He raised an eyebrow.

"No, I'm very legal, in fact, I'm going to get us another round. What are you having?"

"I'll take another screwdriver."

The girl nodded. "Hey, since I'm picking you up, I'll even pay."

Lance laughed. "Sure."

A few minutes later the girl returned. She glanced at her friends who were staring even more intently. "Come dance with me."

The girl grabbed Lance's hand and pulled him onto the floor. He was too tipsy to protest. The girl wrapped her arms around his neck pulling her body flush with his. "You don't mind if I give my friends a little show do you?"

Lance could smell the alcohol on her breath. He put his hands on the small of her back and pulled her closer. "Not at all. Let's give them a show they won't forget for awhile."

The girl laughed. Her eyes met Lance's and she kept his gaze as she wove her way to the floor. Her hands trailed down his body. Lance smiled and met her down there— if only the guys could see him now. He was able to keep his balance as he went to the floor. She wrapped her arms around his neck again and slowly they made their way back up. His hands made their way to her ass. He pulled her into him.

"You want to give them a real show?" Lance asked.

The girl smiled. "What did you have in mind?"

Their lips met in the middle of the inch between their bodies. Before Lance knew it the girl was putting her leg around Lance's back.

When they finally pulled apart they were both breathless.

The girl laughed again. "I don't even know your name. I'm Kelly."

"Lance."

"Nice to meet you Lance." Kelly looked and saw her friends staring at them intently. "I think I'd better go see what my friends have to say. They're giving me that 'what the hell are you doing' look."

Lance laughed. "Sounds good. I think I'm going to go drink that drink you bought me."

"I'll meet you back at the table okay?" With those words Kelly headed over to the bar to talk to her friends.

Lance slowly meandered his way over to the table and sat down. He sipped his drink slowly and watched Kelly talk animatedly with her friends. She could see the innocent look she was giving them and he had to laugh. About five minutes later he saw her move over his direction.

"Hey," she said sitting down.

"Hey," he said. "What did your friends have to say?"

Kelly blushed. "You really want to know?" She waited for his nod before continuing. "They asked me if I was going to fuck you right there on the dance floor or wait until we found a room for the night."

Kelly picked up her now warm drink and gulped it down.

"So," Lance said, raising an eyebrow. "Which is it going to be?"

"Which is what going to be?" Kelly semi-slurred out.

"Are you going to fuck me right here on the dance floor or are we going to make it back to my hotel?"

Kelly looked shocked.

"I will have you know," Lance said, "I'm not normally this forward. There's just something about you."

"There's something about you that actually makes me want to say yes to your little proposition."

"So say yes," Lance said leaning across the table and taking her hand. "We deserve one night of pleasure right? Everyone should have one one night stand in their lives."

"They should?" Kelly questioned.

"Sure," Lance said. "It's spice and adventure, and you realize that this is totally the alcohol talking?"

Kelly laughed. "Well, I know it's the alcohol talking when I say when are we going to leave?"

Lance finished his drink quickly. "Now. Get ready for the best night of your life."

"Oh no, get ready for the best night of your life Lance."

The Next Morning

The first thing that woke Lance was the telephone blaring in his ear. The next thing he noticed was the pounding in his head that only intensified with each ring. He stuck his hand out blindly and knocked the phone off the base. He contemplated just lying there as he was especially warm and comfortable but he soon trashed that idea. He tried to move to get the phone when he realized that there was something warm and solid lying on top of him. The previous night came rushing back to him as his fingertips found the cold plastic phone.

"Hello?" he said.

"Scoop its Justin. What took you so long? You were supposed to call us about an hour ago?"

"Late night," Lance groaned as Kelly began to stir. He was trying to be quiet but Lance knew he was waking her up.

"You pick up a girl Lance? Huh?" Justin said laughing. "You know you can tell me Lance."

Lance was silent for a minute. "Actually Justin, I did." He put his hand over the receiver when he noticed Kelly's eyes were open and trained on him.

"Hi," he said quietly.

"Hi," she said cuddling into him.

"Would you do me a favor?" Lance asked quietly. "Would you say hi to my friend Justin?"

Kelly smiled. "Sure."

Lance took his hand off the receiver and spoke to Justin. "You want to talk to her Justin?" Lance suddenly realized that Justin hadn't said anything since his little revelation. "Justin? You still there."

"Yeah, sure. I'll say hi," Justin said faintly.

"Okay, here's Kelly."

Kelly took the phone and sat up next to Lance. "Hi Justin."

"Hi," Justin said. "So, where did you meet Lance?" He still sounded shell-shocked.

"Oh, we got drunk at a club together last night."

Lance looked over at Kelly who had a huge grin on her face. "You're ruining my reputation," he whispered. He began licking her neck.

Kelly raised her shoulder trying to get him to stop and ignore him at the same time. She glared at him when he moved toward her ear.

"Lance doesn't go to clubs," Justin stated. "He doesn't dance."

"Lance? Not dance?" Kelly busted out laughing. "Justin, you must not know your friend as well as you think. I've never seen a guy be able to dance for that long that close to the floor without falling over. And to go down and back up while making out? That takes a true innate talent."

Lance moved his tongue into Kelly's ear. She squirmed. "Lance cut it out!" she hissed.

There was an audible coughing on the other end of the line.

"So you and Lance, well, you know…" Justin trailed off faintly.

"Are you asking if Lance and I fucked? Of course we did." Kelly shrieked as Lance bit her ear lightly. "I'm sure you've heard from his girls back home that he's just a love machine. We just went to sleep about an hour ago."

Lance stuck his tongue in Kelly's ear one last time before grabbing the phone out of her hands.

"Hi Justin."

"Lance…" Justin said, his voice getting higher. "What the hell are you doing?"

"I'm having fun Justin. God knows it's the only time I've been away from you guys for like six years." Lance felt Kelly kiss his chest.

"I'm actually speechless. I have nothing to say."

"That was my goal in life Justin, to make you speechless," Lance laughed.

"You succeeded."

Lance looked beside him where Kelly should have been. He saw her moving down to the end of the bed underneath the sheet. He swallowed hard.

"Justin, did you call for a rea-oh god- son? Or was it just to wake me uh- oh god Kelly- wake me uh-ooh-p?" Lance couldn't contain his moans. He threw back the sheet to see a smiling Kelly. She grinned evilly and licked him again. She took him back in her mouth.

"I was just calling because—" Justin started.

"Oh god!" Lance interrupted. "Justin, can you call back later, or better, I'll call you back. Now is not a good time." Lance hung up the phone before Justin could answer and pulled Kelly up to kiss her on the lips.

"You, missy, are evil."

"Well Lance, you know what they say— paybacks are hell."

"Yes Kelly, they certainly are," Lance said smiling.

Kelly's laughter turned to a nervous laugh and then to moans as Lance wiggled his way under the sheet.

"Oh god Lance, Oh god."

Justin hung up the phone and stood up from his bed in a daze. He slowly walked down the hall of his house and knocked on JC's door.

"Come in," came JC's voice from inside.

Justin opened the door and walked inside the room.

"You okay Curly?" JC asked, "You look sort of pale."

"I just talked to Lance," Justin said.

"Oh, how's he doing?" JC asked. "Is he enjoying San Francisco? Ready to present that award tonight?"

Justin didn't answer.

"Curly?" JC asked.

"JC?" Justin asked turning to face the older man. "The Lance that left here yesterday rarely gets drunk right?"

"Lance thinks he's drunk off a sip of champagne," JC laughed. "Why?"

"And Lance never goes willingly to clubs right? And he never dances?"

"No. He never goes to clubs and he never dances, ever. Why?" JC asked again.

"And he doesn't dirty dance with strange girls right?"

"You, me, Chris and Joey, especially Joey, right, but Lance no." JC shook his head to emphasize his point. "Why are you asking Curly, is that what Lance said he did?"

"No," Justin said. "That's what the girl in Lance's hotel room said he did."

"Lance had a girl in his hotel room? I didn't know he knew anyone in San Francisco." JC looked confused.

"Lance picked the girl up at the club last night."

JC started laughing. "Lance, pick someone up? He hardly knows how to talk to girls." JC swallowed, hard. "You're sure she wasn't just a friend?"

"Oh yeah," Justin nodded. "She's just a friend who is now very intimate with Lances private areas."

"Oh god," JC said. His voice was wobbly. "What the hell is Lance doing?"

"Last time I talked to him he was getting blown. They've probably moved on to fucking by this point. That's what they did all night. They just went to bed an hour and a half ago." Justin almost laughed at the shocked look on JC's face. "Did you know that shy sweet Lance is a love machine who all the girls must be oohing over?"

JC's face turned bright red. "I'm calling him right now. He's got to stop this shit. It could ruin us."

Justin laughed. "I seriously doubt he's going to answer the phone JC."

"I don't care." JC moved to the phone by his bed. He grabbed the number that was sitting by the phone. He quickly dialed the number and listened to it ring twice. The phone was suddenly picked up.

"Lance, what the hell do you think you're doing?" JC yelled.

No one answered. In the background he heard some noises. "Oh god Lance. Lance, fuck me harder. Oh god Lance…" and "Ride me honey. Oh god, you feel so good… Oh god… Kelly, I'm gonna… Oh god Kelly… I'm cum…"

JC hung up the phone. He looked at Justin who was laughing hysterically. JC hadn't noticed the speaker phone light was on. Finally JC cracked a smile. "Well, you know when N SYNC dies Lance can always become a porn star…"

The two men started laughing harder.

"He is so never going to hear the end of this," Justin said wiping the tears away from his eyes.

That Night

Lance tugged on his jeans trying to make them ride higher. His shirt was plaid. His hair was appropriately spiked. There was a knock on the door of his dressing room.

"Mr. Bass, it's time to meet your co-presenter," the voice called from the other side of the door.

"Okay," Lance said loudly. He took one last look at himself before going to the door. He opened it to find a short balding man.

"Follow me please." Lance did just that. The arrived at another dressing room. "Ms. White," the man called. "It's time to meet your co-presenter. He's out here with me."

"Just a minute," a voice called. Lance thought it sounded familiar. He wondered where he'd heard it. Suddenly it came to him and he paled.

"Are you okay Mr. Bass?" the short man asked.

"Um, yeah." Lance felt like he was going to throw up. He had to get away before the door opened.

And then the door opened.

"This is Ms. White is from the show Once in a Lifetime and this is Mr. Bass, of N SYNC."

It was too late for Lance to get away so he watched with semi-amusement as Kelly paled.

"Lance?" she gulped.

"Hi Kelly," he said. "Fancy meeting you here."

"Yes," she said slowly, "this is a surprise."

"You two know each other," the little man stated happily. "All we want is a little good natured bantering. There is some scripted if you would prefer it."

"Yes," Lance turned to the man. "We'll take a look at that."

The little man looked in his folder and pulled out a few pages. He handed them to Lance.

"I'll leave you two to get caught up. Goodbye." He hurried off.

Lance stared at Kelly. Kelly stared at Lance.

"Well, this is awkward," she said turning away and heading back into the dressing room.

"Yes, this certainly is," Lance said. "The whole purpose of the one night stand was to have pleasure without the awkwardness. We almost succeeded."

"We definitely were never supposed to see each other again," Kelly said laughing. Her eyes caught Lances. They both got a serious frown on their faces.

"I've been thinking about you all day," Lance said, stepping closer to Kelly.

"I couldn't forget you," Kelly said. "It's amazing I'm still walking," she laughed.

"Yeah," Lance said grinning, "That is pretty amazing."

Their eyes met again and slowly the reached out for one another. Their lips soon met in a more tender kiss. Slowly they pulled away.

"Are you doing anything tonight?" Lance asked shyly.

"Well, aside from presenting a very important award, I was hoping that a certain blond guy might be interested in making it a two night stand rather than a one night stand."

"I think that blond guy would be more than happy to oblige," Lance smiled. He suddenly noticed that he had papers clutched in his hands. "Maybe we should look at these?"

"Yeah," Kelly said. "We probably should." She sat down on the couch and began reading off the paper. "You know, I've always wanted to get up close and personal with a Backstreet Boy. Especially you Nick. No, you're not Nick. You're Brian right? Think you can set me up with Nick?"

"Well, if I was Brian I might be able to, but sadly, I'm Lance of 'N SYNC," Lance read. "You can get up close and personal with me anytime you want." He paused and smiled. "You think someone was watching our room last night?"

Kelly laughed and went to sit on Lance's knee. "I don’t know but I'm quite happy getting up close and personal to you anytime."

She pressed her lips to Lance's and said quietly. "Let's begin the festivities a little early… what do you say?"

Lance could only smile as she pushed him back on the couch. "Just watch the hair okay?"
